Game crashes when using custom cyclist

I have a problem in my career, I have made my own cyclist using an editor (PCM fast editor) and he just got a contract on my team, but when I try to use him in a race my game just crashes.
It doesn't matter if i try to simulate the race or not it still crashes I have also tried it in a few different races but with no luck.
In the database editor the only thing i touched was the cyclists tab, do i need to change anything else?
I hope some of you maybe have a solution. |

I'll bump this because I have the exact same problem! I wanted to add Mathieu van der Poel to my team, and since he is not in the database (what a shame!) I added a new cyclist and pretty much copied Kragh Andersen his values. Also edited the fitness since it showed -1% ingame and added a contract for him.
So all is fine, I can see him in my team. See his stats, click his profile, all looks in order. However as soon as I want to start him in any race the game crashes upon the first loading sequence 'starting inrace server'.
I am using vanilla game with standard database (changed the 'fake' with fast editor)
Does anyone have a fix? Something I forgot to change or add?

Did you give him a new unique cyclist ID when you copied Kragh Anderson? This is just a guess but I have a vague memory that having two riders with the same ID causes a crash in the race. |

Yeah I created the new rider by adding a new one. The ID is unique. |

Hopefully you found a solution. I definitely had a similar problem and fixed it in single race mode. But if it is not a problem with the ID either I am forgetting the fix or it might be a different error in career mode. If you want to attached the save game CDB I can take a look I might see something that reminds me. |

I didn't find a solution but I did find a workaround. I think the problem has something to do with the 3D model of the rider that has to be created for the race. Because even with all stats blank he would still pop up in my game, but as soon as he would enter a race it would crash instantly.
The workaround I used was just to rename a random cyclist without a contract and no 'future' in professional cycling and renamed him to Mathieu van der Poel and edited to stats to match him. Added him in my team and gave him the same contract as Sam Oomen. So yeah I kinda 'fixed' it :-)

For the record, I don't think it was the 3D model, that is essentially the same as the 3D model for all your other riders and my understanding is it only crashed with him in the race.
I think more likely there was a problem when you added the rider to the DB. By overwriting another rider you fixed whatever was messed up about your set up of the new rider. A good solution. |
