riders without contract

Does anyone know how you can give riders without a contract a new team for the next season, so they will have a whole year without racing.

The specific instructions depend a little on what editor you use. You can dowload Lachi's editor in the PCM17 downloads if you haven't edited before. Basically need to do two things in your save game file:

1. Add a new row in DYN_Contract_Cyclist and assign a contract to the rider you want to edit. Populate the fields (should be able to follow existing rows). Note the contract ID assigned.

2. Find the row for that cyclist in DYN_Cyclist and add the contract ID in the appropriate field and change the team to the team you assigned.

Think that is it. Probably safest to do this after all the transfers for the current season are applied (which I think is October 20ish) but before Jan 1 of the next season.

Is it possible to edit riders who signed with new teams in the same way? The transfers are so unrealistic I'd like to change some of them. Is this OK to do as long as I make the salaries add up?

If they have a contract with a new team, you would have to change the contract and not add another one.
1. Find the row for that cyclist in DYN_contract_cyclist and change the team
2. Find the row for that cyclist in DYN_cyclist and change the team
The salaries don't matter but you should do this at the end of the season (after the last race and before 31st of December) else it will mess up the race calendar of all involved teams.
