Most overrated rider in this DB is probably Thomas Dekker in my opinion. |

I think Mads Kaggerstad is the most over-rated rider, I mean, seriously, 58, that is way too high for him |

Old joke, Deadpool, old joke.
There's probably lots of overrated riders in the DB, but with my cycling knowledge I'm not able to judge who |

Paging Ruben to thread 4774.
The two most overrated in the DB is Gesink and Dekker. Everyone (should) know how i argued long and hard about giving him 76 MO for performing well in P-N while not in shape. So how about we give Contador 85 MO then?
Now, Dekker is harder to explain. But its pretty simple too: Why have i never heard about Dekker winning a major race?

Dekker won the Tour of Romandie only last year, and spent the Tour working for Rasmussen, where he did a lot of damage to the peloton on the early slopes of the climbs. So, theres no doubting he has the talent - therefore not the most overrated in my opinion. That honour for me goes to Erik Zabel (ooh, contraversial... ). Exceptional in his day, he has been a shadow of his former self this season with only one win to his name in the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana. Sure, he's had a bunch of podiums but there's no way he is on the same level as Steegmans like he is in the db. |

I think Gilbert, Kolobnev, Gadret and Pozzato's hill stats are overrated. I also think the potential of some riders is a bit extreme. Too many riders have an 7 or 8 in my opinion. Riders like Peterson are good but I don't see them competing for the Tour de France podium anytime soon.
To get back to Dekker. In my opinion he is just fine or maybe even underrated for hills. He won the Tirreno at the age of 21, Tour de Romandie at the age of 22 and this year he ended top 6 in all 3 hilly spring classics.
However this database is by far best I've seen in ages.
