The Nakhon Ratchasima Trophy with a debut in 2016 as it`s the first ever edition of this event. Being C1 rated, we will see the very best sprinters of the PCT division and this means, some of the very best in the World.
2 home riders from Thailand also found the way onto the startlist but neither Sai-Udomsin nor Boonratanathanakorn are feeling well on that terrain really and might struggle to put their stamp on the race.
It`s all about the sprinters really and with Lo Cicero, Guerao, Ahlstrand or Avelino we have a nice top there with riders, that all won several events already. None of them needs to hide behind the PT riders really.
But those 4 are not all. Several more are expected to give them a proper challenge.
| Fl | Sp | Acc | | Fl | Sp | Acc | Lo Cicero | 72 | 84 | 78 | Castañeda | 71 | 80 | 79 | Guerao | 74 | 83 | 76 | Kupfernagel | 74 | 80 | 80 | Ahlstrand | 74 | 83 | 82 | Itami | 75 | 80 | 82 | Avelino | 71 | 83 | 78 | Bouhanni | 74 | 80 | 77 | Vanderbiest | 74 | 82 | 77 | Nizzolo | 73 | 80 | 79 | Thorsen | 61 | 82 | 85 | Forero | 70 | 79 | 74 | Zabel | 74 | 81 | 79 | Richeze | 72 | 79 | 77 | Haussler | 73 | 80 | 76 | Peeters | 72 | 79 | 77 | Granjel Cabrera | 75 | 80 | 77 | Santos | 71 | 79 | 75 | Van Asbroeck | 75 | 80 | 78 | Matthews | 75 | 79 | 79 | Serebriakov | 74 | 80 | 77 | Reinhardt | 71 | 78 | 84 |
Some riders might not want to wait for the sprint though and despite no top roleur is here, some might still play their engine advantage and attempt a late attack to surprise the sprinter teams. Those are:
| Fl | Sp | Acc | Schorn | 76 | 77 | 77 | Kwok | 76 | 74 | 76 | Kuznetsov | 76 | 72 | 75 | Bauer | 76 | 70 | 70 | Stenersen | 76 | 62 | 69 | Kvist | 75 | 77 | 78 | Reimer | 75 | 77 | 80 | Van Poppel | 75 | 76 | 78 | Ford | 75 | 68 | 73 | Vermote | 75 | 68 | 72 | Vermeltfoort | 75 | 64 | 76 | Atkins | 75 | 61 | 63 | Franzoi | 75 | 55 | 68 |

Vanderbiest... And minimal support... Oh well, maybe he'll pick a good wheel

Another top 10 should be needed here, too bad the route isn't really selective enough for Van Asbroeck.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Zabel not the strongest sprinter, but should have good support. Hopefully he gets a train and ends in a nice top 3

Unfortunately the course is a bit too flat for Kuznetsov, otherwise a late attack by him would've had a good chance of succeeding. Now it's just hoping that Serebriakov will bother sprinting - which he likely won't

Hope my guys can shine in their home race, but realistically I can't hope for more than a break appearance and maybe a top 20 from Nepomnyachsniy. |

We´re have the strongest possible here, hopefully we can build a real power sprinttrain and giving Ahlstrand an open goal and just take the win |

Why didn't I sign up for this?
Hope Thorsen wins this But gonna tip Zabel, he's got a good train and it could be anybody at the top anyway
Thanks for the preview Roturn

In theory we have the team to get a good result in this race, but in practice I think it will be another complete failure...
The top 10 will be the best that can be achieved

Realistically we're aiming for a top 20 and hoping for a top 10 for Matthews, there is so many sprint powerhouses here so a breakaway seems unlikely too.
Seid, Rosza and Farantakis going to get some important XP here. Will be interresting to see if they attempt anything.
Fingers crossed for Matthews and thank you for the preview roturn! |

Aaltio-Vinther have made killer leadouts in packed fields for Lo Cicero before. We just don't have any squabble about who's the leader
Obviously going for the win, anything less than a podium will be disappointing, but seeing my luck the last couple of months I wouldn't be surprised to see him crash with 5 km to go.

Bouhanni needs to get me a good result here and he has the support here to create a great lead out train with Reza, Anton Martin, Sanz, Jazer and Bonnet but given he's only an outside favourite it's unlikely PCM will give him a lead out but if they do it could be interesting! Also hoping that Bret or Milos get in the breakaway for some further entertainment. Should be a great race for the neutrals as well

I feel so sorry for Ahlstrand :/
however, great podium and congrats to the guys Euskaltel on a late run this year clearly, unexpectedly turning a bad season into a decent one

Another 7th place I'll happily take on this too easy race. I'm really comparing to the results of the direct competition now. Aeropostal just ahead of us, but no major gains. SanCor and Compal far behind. Easily outscoring Vontobel and Shimano as well. It's looking good again these two classics, let's hope no more stage races now
Thanks for the report!

Quite disappointed by Matthews 30th place, but then I found out that Bauer somehow managed a 15th, so at least some points to take home from Thailand. But it's not looking good right now.
Thank you Roturn! |

4th place is good, Zabel went a bit early. Should've stayed on Itamis wheel for 2-300 meters more.
However, great to see him grab the right wheel, and also great to see a former rider like Bouhanni winning!
Ahlstrand and Guerao most dissapointing. I had Ahlstrand as the winner... Their managers must be really dissapointed
