Isn't there anyway to instruct a rider to just follow a rival? Like we often see in tdf, that one favorite is just sitting on the wheel of another favorite the last few mountains, and if he strikes, the other will just follow.
If the feature isn't in the game, then why, because we see froome does it all the time? |

You can counter-attack a move if someone accelerates of the front of the pack. It is the button that looks like the rider attacking but with an arrow next to it. You need to right click on the attacking rider to select it.

yeah but sometimes, im to slow to act, so it whould be nice to tell a rider like froome, to follow quintana if he strikes.

you can set instructions before the race, and set a rider to auto for the stage.

I may be mistaken in newer iterations of the game, as I've only played '14, but isn't there a pause function to make split-second decisions?

yes, and the function of returning to normal speed if playing on x2,x4,x8 etc. if an event happens

But still I personal think it would be nice with a follow this guy button. That also makes sure the he is always near his rival, when he strikes. |

You can position the rider 'near' someone with the 'position here' option. You can keep adjusting it throughout the race if you want to be side by side with the rival rider

I also feel that this is a bit harder than I expect it to be. Certainly something can be done about it. There are some options but to make them work properly you need to do a lot of clicks and telling the game. Not that great for the more casual riders.
Having a pure "follow this guy no matter what" might be a bit overpowered and might ruin the game a bit, as there needs to be way for the other riders to get away from the follower. |
