Pro Cyclist. Most effective training?

Just wondering if anyone has worked out the best way to train your rider to peak fitness with freshness not dropping low.
Finding it difficult to plan for races in the future when 4 weeks doesn't really seem enough time to get a rider prepared and not being able to see/plan any further ahead

Also, just how much does freshness affect performance? Is it something i can just ignore?

IRL, some riders use Dauphiné or Tour d'Suisse for warm up for Tour de France.

So say you work up your rider's fitness with training (without overtraining and tiring out), then you ride a race where you do the stages, don't train much and don't do too much in those races. You'll build fitness and your freshness won't completely plummet to the floor.

Then with a decent level of training from there until the tour, your fitness should be above average and you should peak in the later half of the TdF.

As an example. If your goal is MAX fitness, you'll be tired. I've often only seen max fitness when tiredness is 25-30 somewhere after long periods of races and/or harder training.
