Nations Ranking 2015
SportingNonsense
I thought I would post the Nations rankings for the season, as my method of doing the rankings this year has made it easier than before, and the structure to calculate it was already set up to indicate on World Champs selections.

The top 10 points scoring riders for each nation are included, across all PT, PCT, and CT races. (No points for Worlds or Avenir). It incorporates points scored by PCT riders in PT races, unlike any of the other rankings.

Quite happy to see Taiwan going past Korea on the rankings. A small milestone for the tiny cycling nation.

Also very interesting to see the Full Top 10 Breakdown and find out the importance of Plutchkin, Bewley and Taraamae for Moldova, New Zealand and Estonia compared to the massive depth of Italy, Belgium, Germany and Spain.

Thank you SN, very enjoyable ranking overview.

Very interesting tables, thanks for them SN!

Ukraine 27th is not where i would like to see it, with two dedicated teams. In last table, the 44th place for Ukraine shows how desperate it is for a strong point scorer. Depth is here and keeps improving thanks to Metinvest and COC developing the talent, but with likes of Ratiy and Krasnoperov as best riders from Ukraine being close to useless, the situation is rather terrible on top end.

It would probably need 3-4 more years of heavy training of now maxed out riders for 2016 to place someone who can replace Popovych as the strong point scorer of the past, who is declining, as is Grivko or soon Grabovski.

Moldova in top 20 with only four point scorers and three of them under 100 points. Pfft
New Zealand also heavy dependant on Bewley, but stil not so extreme like Moldova with several other 100+ point scorers.

Slovenia with two great scorers is another type of way into top10, it would have been 2nd with top2 guys only!

On the other hand, great depth is the way for likes of Germany, France, Belgium or Colombia.

Really dislike seeing Austria that far down, but it was a given considering Denifl underperforming I guess.

Hopefully I will be able to get Austria higher up in the future. Doubt that Germany can get much higher, even with Herklotz developing. NED/GBR/FRA will most likely make Germany loose a spot or 2 in the future

Interesting numbers and facts, and I'm happy to see Norway in 13th, eventhough it's obviously much due to Boasson Hagen and Kristoff.

Bewley's dominance is kind of underlined looking at the fact that only Italy and Slovenia got more ranking points from their two top riders than Bewley did on his own.

The top 10 breakdown also gives an indication of the great depth Czech Republic and Colombia have, when they at the same time have no great scorer, having their top scorer only around 500 points.

Thanks for posting it, SN!

Great to see Sella contributing to Italy's win here. Other than that my two Asian focus countries China and Thailand are not necessarily where I hoped to see them, but also not too far off.
If Kiserlovski would've performed a little better also Croatia could've been a little higher..

Gustavovskiy
Boy, that's a lot of flags Pfft

I'm thrilled to see Angola being 9th to last, with the same amount of points as FYROM. Next year the goal is to break out of the last 15!

Awesome statistic! Italy narrowly beating a nation with an even better depth but missing a big leader. Not too much of a big difference between real life and MG actually, although you'll hardly see NZL 11th anywhere.

The Netherlands really want to be 5th it seems. Pfft
Stealing it from Germany.

NED, ITA, GER, BEL combination surely is a good thing for me then. 4/top6 Nations.

@Heine: I doubt that NED will pass GER to be honest. The Netherlands have big talents like Teunissen, Groenewegen, Kelderman etc.
But Germany has Zepuntke, Zabel, Herklotz and in the depth a bit more I think like Vogt etc.

See them very close for a long time but with a small advantage on the GER side.

Will be interesting in future when those German youngest talents will be added as also the Dutch talents such as Van Oojmen or what his name is.

knockout
Awesome. I always like to see these statistics!

The top riders obviously have a huge effect with especially NZ and MOL way above their RL positions.

Belgium in second place is very interesting under the aspect that Tom Boonen still seems to one of their top two scorers. Any chance that he was even the best scoring Belgium rider this year?

Latvia on 35 only. It's time to change that!
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Denmark 22/23rd? (they are on top of Ireland but the wrong number), Poland 24th and Kazakhstan 25th are the top we may have contributed to. which is a pretty funny pattern. Pfft

Poland doing quite well in 24th but I'd like to make the top 20 a goal for next season. Grin (then 15, 10,5, 1st Pfft Grin)

Impressed by Slovakia, cruising into top ten by two dominat scorers. Smile
Could easily have gotten higher aswell if I entered a few more wildcards with brajko!

Spain not the best aswell, really visible when lot of their best dont perform. Guarero, Madrazo, Tenorio, Inxtausi, Anton..

Ecuador obviously needs to improve, that will I make sure of!

Thanks for the tables SN - interesting to see how each one differs depending on what the result was etc.

Italy were a dominate force!

Thanks SN. Very happy with the achievement of Sri Lanka, should be onwards and upwards from here - 6th in Asia is just great, especially being only 2 points off 5th.

Yeah, that's nice progress they've made but I doubt you'll be that close to Malaysia next season with me dropping down to CT meaning my Malaysian riders should score a lot better, especially as I'll have 2 Malaysian leaders next season who were out on PT loans this season so should improve their points scoring even if their seasons aren't as great as I'm hoping.

Hopefully we can help Sweden climb a bit higher up in the next seasons Wink
