Recognize Tour de France, Giro and Vuelta

Hi. My question is simple:

- What is the best period to do the recogtion stage of Tour, Giro and Vuelta? Right after the tour start (ending 1 day before)?

Or probably the riders will be tired if they recognize right after the tour, and its better idea to do the recognition some weeks before?
