What does exactly energy gel do?

It doesnt give any energy boost for sure...

I think the red bar or maybe the yellow bar last a little bit longer if you use the energy bar. But its a very tiny bit i guess ..

Its not like you can say you lost a race because you forgot to take the energy bar Pfft

Its probably more of a fancy feature added to the game, eventho it probably have no to little effect after all .. Some people say you should use the energy bar 3-5 km before the finish, other people say you should use it right before you sprint Pfft

Also the red bar can blink if the attack is great, maybe the energy bar adds a bigger chance for that to happen? But imo, dont pay too much focus to the energy bar ..

It will make your red bar losing less red bar when used. so it's good for sprints, you can definetly lose if you maybe don't take it

I saw a ingame tip once (those like don't follow Swiss machines or brake cold chains) that energy gel let's you attack for longer, so I guess the red bar uses up slower during attacks and sprints?
It should be effective a while after taking it, when the symbol starts blinking.

I assumed it helped with attacking and sprinting
