The opening timetrial through Reykjavik is definitely a big key to any GC-success here. 38km in total, we should expect the TT-specialists aiming to gain as much time on pure puncheurs as possible.

Tennant as the favorite, with Boaro/Rolland or Aramendía, Sebright and Pökälä as some real threats for the stage-win.

Heavy crosswinds (38-42kmh) today, but it's more or less the same conditions for all starters..

new leader, finishing the course off 20 seconds faster than Kasa!

Gallopin, Rosa faster than Sebright, but clearly behind Ignatiev. Still some favorites to follow, but we see pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/gen.png Rolland with a disappointing provisional 9th place at the finish!

No bigger changes with now only a few serious contenders to follow: pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/dek.png Pökälä provisional 5th, with also Bontenackels and Girardi moving into the Top-10 for now.

Local hero pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ice.png Omarsson obviously top-motivated on home soil. The GC-contender finishes inside the Top-10 today:

+ 27" as 9th here - quite a solid performance..

But will the top-favorite deliver? pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/sva.png Tennant does go for the best split times indeed (14 seconds ahead Ignatiev at the second), but he's losing some time on Ignatiev eventually:

it's the stage-win and GC-lead nevertheless! Tennant takes out the TT by 6 seconds on Ignatiev and 27 seconds on Kasa. That's what Tennant was here for, even though Ignatiev gave him a good fight.
