I'm going into the final stage of the Tour of Norway and my rider/race leader has disappeared from the race for some reason. He shows up on the list of riders on the main Manager screen, but isn't there on the briefing/strategy page, and doesn't start in the race.
I have no idea what has happened, and given this would be my first win with one of my generated riders am a bit confused! Any ideas?
Been a while since I last watched Brazil. Chances are your rider injured himself on the penultimate stage without you noticing and thus withdrew. We've all seen this happen, no crash or anything, the rider can even win the stage in style and suddenly the game claims he's injured. Thankfully it's a rare occurrence.
You could go back to your last weekly save, but you'd have to see how many days you'd need to replay, might not be worth it.
Extremely frustrating if true! Thankfully I also have second in the race, but that's with Sagan and so slightly less fulfilling to win with him rather than a twenty year old rookie after a full-stage breakaway!
An update - I won the race as Sagan, but the post-race message is saying that Holly (the rider who disappeared and did not ride in the final stage) won the overall race. It shows up in the season results for my riders as a win for Holly, and in the general standings for the Tour of Norway in "latest results" as a win for Sagan. And in the rider profiles, as a 1st in GC for both of them.
I'm afraid that's actually an unrelated bug, part of the game will think a rider finished a stage race in the position he held when he dropped out. It happens even when you manually withdraw a rider, that's how I first noticed it.
