Game crashes on startup

Hello i've been having a few problems with my game crashing at random times and now it won't even startup, i just get the cyanide message saying 'we're sorry but the game had a problem and crashed'. I play the game on a laptop and when i bought it i was told it could handle playing games like pcm. All the graphics options are on the lowest settings. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?
