So im pretty new to PCM, and i started with PCM14 a week ago. I have watched several videos on how to setup a sprint train, and i seem to do the right thing until the end.
I start my sprint train with 4-5 riders at 15-18km left. I start pacing my first guy with 70+ flat stats and set him on 80-85% energy, and my other guys to 75%, and then upping the energy bit by bit when we come closer to the finish.
I also set my riders to follow each other etc. But when my front man dont have more energy and my leadout man have to setup the pace everything goes wrong. For some reason my raiders keep following the first guy who dont have more energy and my train completely dies, and i can't do shit. Its like the riders just are locked to following the first guy ...
I also remember to use the dot (effort) button in my sprint, and so on. Ive done completly like the videoes on youtube. Also my train usually is in the front and everything looks good until my leadout man have to keep the pace.
So now my best option is just to set my sprinters to keep sitting in the front, and just up the energy and hope they make it to the end. I won some stages, but it just annoys me i cannot figure out the sprint train. Also i play with a custom team, so my riders might not be good enough or something? I just think i dont stand a chance if i get to TDF, because you probably need to have a working sprint train to win any sprint stages.
Is this a bug, or am i doing something wrong?

You have to make sure that the next guy in the sprint train stops following the guy who ran out of energy (at least judging from this I think thats the issue)
Or maybe you set everybody to follow your lead man? You have to set one rider to follow the next individually and you have to check that the order "sticks". Maybe start with a simple two-man-train first, one lead-out, one sprinter, get the timing right for them and build from there.
Well, the problem seems to be that my riders will keep following the guy who run out of energy, and therefor my trains dies. How do you stop following a rider, cause no matter what i try its like my riders are locked to following the first guy in my train.
I also remember to set the first guy on the effort curser when there is 8-10 km left. When he then runs out of energy i put him on maintain and set his energy to 10-15%, and then let the next rider take over, put him on effort and 90-95% energy. But he still keeps following the first guy. On the videoes i saw on youtube, the second guy in the sprint train automatically stop following the main/first guy when you set him on the effort, but for some reason nothing happens here.
Its like they just do the commands the first guy does. Cause when i put my second guy on effort nothing happens. Also i can first sprint with my sprinters when i select sprint on the leadout guy, is it supposed to work like that? :-)
When someone runs out of energy just let him on the effort curser and just put the next guy in the train on the effort cursor, if you put the guy without energy on maintain with 15% he might be blocking your whole train because of rider collision.
Just to make sure you watched a good video, I googled PCM sprint train and this was the first or second video in my results, watch closely what he does. You can skip ahead to 4:45 or so in the video:
Notice the bug he's referring to (riders losing their orders) is actually his own fault in this case. He made the mistake to tell de Kort to follow Degenkolb, not Kittel. Then he told Kittel to (also) follow Degenkolb but Kittel lined up behind de Kort and when he told de Kort to stop following, Kittel does the same. And he takes a long time to realise that.
