mountain stages can be won in extreme mode, it is not so hard. But sprints are impossibles. There is a difficulty shift between mountain and sprints stages due to ai behaviour that lack efficency in mountain stages. I think exteme is the better mode to compare an human vs computer in mountain stages but for sprints is normal or hard. So for the carrer i set exteme mode but the sprints are not funny...it is annoying to change mode each stage...
What do u think? |

There's a way to adjust the difficulty values. Iirc, this is how difficulties work:
Easy: -5% on all stats
Normal: all stats unchanged
Hard: +5%
Extreme: +10%
So if we assume that Kittel and Cav both have 80 in sprint, then there's a gap of 8 points in sprinting on extreme. It would be the same as sprinting against them with a 72 guy on normal. So it makes sense that sprints are impossible. Also acceleration will be higher. Don't know why mountain stages are easier though, maybe because they just attack and are tired before the top.
Anyway, there is an easy way, I forgot how though so someone else will have to fill me in on this, to adjust these values. That way you could make it so that Extreme is +7,5% for example. That way you could try balancing it out between hard enough mountain stages and easy enough sprint stages I guess. |

I agree with MartijnVDD.
The point is the difficulty levels do not imply a better AI behaviour, but simply a bonus (or a malus) on the AI's riders stats.
In the mountains you can compensate the Extreme +10% bonus by beeing smarter than the AI (no meaningless attacks, use the dot). On a sprint, there is not much you can do, 80 vs 88 sprint is simply too much. |

Nope, you guys are exaggerating the bonus
Easy: 0,96
Normal: 1
Hard: 1,025
Extreme: 1,05
But indeed, like titleist82 said, there's way more you can do to ''outsmart'' the AI in the mountains than in the sprints.
(I wouldn't say using the dot is always smarter though, if your rider has high ACC, I'd use short attacks to create a necessary gap )

So if we have Froome and Contador with 83 mountain skill on extreme dificulty this will mean:
1. Froome will have 83 * 1.05 = 87.15 mountain skill and Contador 83 mountain skill?
or
2. Contador will have 83 / 1.05 = 79.04 mountain skill and Froome 83 mountain skill?
I think the second is real but i need more opinions |

Depends on who you're playing with. I believe the opposition gets 5% stronger but I'm not 100% sure either.

Yes, i'm sorry, i'm Contador and Tinkoff-Saxo. Anyway, those 4 mountain skill (79-83 or 83-87) difference is a lot. |

Yes, the difficulty is a lot. But it is up to you to select the difficulty you like best. |

So what is exactly the difference in PCM 14 between difficulties?
When I have hard difficulty all computer's stats are multiplied x 1,025?
And is there any difference between normal and hard AI behaviour?
Thanks |

1. Yes
2. I wouldn't call it "AI", tbh. But no, the riders don't act different, afaik. They seem to chase breaks down more often from what I've heard, but that never happened to me.

No there's not a difference in AI, the difficulty is just a multiplier of the normal stats.
