PT Race List 2015
SportingNonsense
Work continues on the routes for all races this year, but the race list can now be announced, along with their race days. To reflect the need for a faster season, a few races have been dropped - while Colombia is shortened. But PT teams do get to ride in HC races this year, with that calendar already having been revealed.

Badaling International2
Tour of Qatar6
Omloop Het Volk3
Tirreno-Adriatico7
Paris-Nice8
Classique du Grand-Duché2
Milan San Remo2
Chrono des Herbiers2
East Midlands Cicle Classic2
Lisbon Classic2
Vuelta al Pais Vasco6
Ronde van Vlaanderen2
Paris - Roubaix2
Giro d'Italia21
Tour of California8
Amstel Gold Race2
Fleche Wallone2
Liege - Bastogne - Liege2
Vuelta a Espana21
Strada Appia Antica2
Tour de Suisse9
Criterium du Dauphine Libere8
Tour de France21
Deutschland Tour8
GP Moscow2
Vuelta a Colombia6
Tour of Northern Europe8
GP Liechtenstein2
Copenhagen-Malmo TTT2
Praha - Karlovy Vary - Praha2
Tour of Tasmania3
Giro di Lombardia2

Omloop Het Volk enters the game as a new stage race, but it will have a strong familiarity, featuring the routes of Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne as the opening two stages, prior to a cobbled TTT.

Volta a Catalunya may be gone, but that does not mean the end of a 3 way race clash in PT, with Classique du Grand-Duche being moved to take place at the same time as Paris-Nice and Tirreno-Adriatico.

The Giro and Tour of California are moved forward to the Calendar in April, with the Ardennes classics being pushed back into May. This helps to spread the Grand Tours throughout the calendar, preventing the Giro and Vuelta from being back to back.

The Deutschland Tour has a new route, and will no longer feature Mountains, while there is also a revised route for the Tour of Northern Europe as its previous Swedish segment has been replaced by Norwegian stages instead.

*Mutters inaudibly about the lack of a Sri Lankan race* Pfft

Just kidding, I'm not that unrealistic. I do like the way that the calendar has been shortened without losing too many races and agree it's necessary. Plus there's no 3 way PN, Tirreno and Catalunya clash anymore so teams need fewer stage racers - except then you're going to struggle in Luxembourg, if you lack puncheurs, so an interesting choice . Great job SN Smile

That 3 way clash was never about needing more 'stage racers'. It's always been the case that 1 is for Mountains and the other 2 are for hills - that hasn't changed. The difficulty for many PT teams has been filling squads for all 3 races, and that challenge remains.

Liking the look of the Race list, some serious planning in the transfer market is needed me thinks.

So I'll now have to send Theo Bos to the Classique du Grand-Duché for his annual team leadership outing. I don't exactly have any hopes he'll do better...

Very interesting changes on especially Deutschland Tour! Omloop Het Volk should be great to follow as well, and with another stage race with cobbles likely to be involved (ToNE), this looks slightly more friendly for cobblers than usual.

Speaking of ToNE, it's great to see Norway feature when there is no longer a Tour of Norway Smile

First PT season, here we come!

Some good changes to keep the ball rolling a bit faster. OHV should be an interesting addition. A cobbled TTT - wonder which stats will be of most significant importance there.

The struggles of the PT, I can't pick and choose which races I want to avoid. Sad

The calendar looks nice though. I'm glad the Giro (not the Vuelta) collides (at least I assume it does) with the Tour of California otherwise I would have heated arguments between sponsors on which rider was going to rider where.

Damn just as I plan to invest into Nerz, Deutschland Tour goes hilly... Grin
Has to be a Kelderman leadership then if I apply and get in.

Nice looking PT schedule.
Omloop Het Volk is a great addition.

Deutschland Tour hilly seems weird on first view. But is not unrealistic actually.

Looking pretty good, Het Volk will be interesting.

A lot less Asian races in PT, of course I knew that would be the case. Hopefully the team can find success in the hilly races and flat classics. Being forced to ride all these cobble races could be a problem though Pfft

As a neutral I'm really looking forward to Het Volk. Will be interesting what counts and how managers will address the TTT

Nice to see a hilly Deutschland Tour (assuming it is). The more hills on the calender, the better for my team! Smile Other than that, I'm very much looking forward to Milan San Remo. Will be interesting to see how Van Stayen performs there after his training!

Nice work with the calendar here. Races like romandie, Volta are not big misses as you still have a stage race from those nations. Like most others the het volk I think will be will be fun.

Stage racers still will be useful of course but there will be less chance of sneaking easier startlist races.

Great looking calendar, I really like all changes! Especially it is nice to see P-KV-P in the PT calendar once again. Het Volk stage race seems to be a nice addition too, that is exactly something I was missing in the PT calendar. Smile

Could you imagine if Quickstep was still Neiusblad and had to ride Volk?! (excuse spelling)

Omloop sounds interesting. Other than that I'm looking forward to Deutchland without Mountains (Go Flügel!). Might actually have to have a goal for that race this season, hmmm

Looks like a great calender, really looking forward to it. I'm especially curious for the Omloop, hoping it will play out nicely. Also looking forward to the announcement of the GT courses! Should be a great season ahead.

Well, Santander managed to pick 3 races and avoid the rest!
