BelarusBank decided not to nominate their own riders, so only the loaned-in Sakalou will represent the team here.
San Marino will be decided between Good Energy and Sauber.
Time Trial
These ITT-championships are actually quite open except for Sakalou expected to finish last in the Belarussian part of the race.
Paolo Scarponi is 9 seconds faster than Marco Zafferani on the first intermediate.
The Belarussian race however appear less exiting than hoped for.
Both Samoilev and P.Scarponi keeps on expanding their advantage for each km.
Everything points to this being another one for the break. They will tackle the hilly route.
Two riders form todays break: Sakalou and Zafferani.
Since no one can be bothered chasing behind they can pretty much be announced champions before the halfway point.
They ride a very agressive last 30 km where they take turns attacking but noone manages to get a proper gap.
In the end Sakalou gets away on the final hill.
