This combined championship will feature Compal deciding who gets the Taiwanese and three others fighting for the Uzbek title.
Time Trial
Wang is the massive favourite for Taiwan while the Uzbek TT could get very clsoe between all three with Lagutin looking as the favourite.
Khalmuratov is the first Uzbek rider on the course setting a solid time as well.
First intermediate time:
Wang is looking every bit as superior as expected.
Shaekhov keeps the gap close at the second intermediate.
It seems Lagutin mainly needed some time to get his pace up.
Still a very close Uzbek race at the 3rd intermediate
Shaekhov is 13 seconds slower than Khalmuratov.
The 5+3 competitors will tackle the hilly route
Lagutin is highly motivated to make it a double and attacks right at the start.
He is joined by Huang and Khalmuratov
The trio quickly builds a massive gap making Huang the likely Taiwanese champion. An interesting choice by Compal, but it will surely be a highlight in the youngsters career and help him boost his skills for next season.
Khalmuratov decides to make use of his climbing skills and attack on the steep hill already 20 km fron the finish line.
He gets a gap but it doesn't last.
So he tries again on the flat with 4 km to go.
Once again Lagutin reels him in with Huang as a silent passenger.
In the end it comes down to a regular sprint, where the main issue will probably be the amount of energy left after an agressive race.
Lagutin takes the double.
Huang is the new Taiwanese champion.
