When compiling the rider's objective and schedule for 2017 (I manage Team Joker) I notice that everyone really hates Milano-San Remo. It has 0 interest on all my rider's objective list and if I add it to the list of objectives for one of them, even my good classics riders whine about poor season planning.
I find this quite strange given that we scored a top 10 last year and I have got some guys with decent stamina, hills and sprint abilities that should last until the Poggio and hang on to the finish. Why don't they want to do what the team was put together to do?
Is this a (random) feature of the game, or is the race really that bad? Have you had similar experiences?
You are right, I have noticed the same. Heck, even the previous year's winner didn't care for it! But I guess you just have to select it as an objective anyway, bad freshness and 300 km don't mix too well.
Thanks for answering, and yes, they are well paid to train and race so they will just have to live with the MSR on the job description. For my team it is sort of logically the main objective of the season, we got sprinters with good endurance that can also do a few hills, and nobody that comes close to being a GC contender at anything. IT's a scandal they don't motivate themselves for their job!
Ungrateful bunch! This season I have found somebody who was really happy to be given Milan-San Remo as an objective. More of a cobblestone sprinter, oddly enough (SP 81, COB 78, Hills only 71).
