I like to build careers. The problem is that no matter how much money I offer, I can't keep riders. I would love to follow the career of a specific rider, like trying to win 8 tour de Frances or 5 Paris-Roubaix, but my riders always leave after a few years. In the same line, when I discover rare talents from scouting, you can't develop them into winners, they will leave long before that. I wish you could build more stable long term careers with specific riders like that. Thats probably the only reason I play the recent NBA and FIFA games. |

Have you considered using an editor to manually alter riders contract lengths? OK it's a little bit of a cheat but if it's a problem that stops you playing the game then it should at least be worth a try. Limit it to just the one or two key riders to preserve as much reality as possible and away you go to build a new USPS!

Is that really so - no matter how much you offer a rider, he'll leave after a while? For certain I can tell you that is not the case with PCM 2009, the previous version I played. My two favorite riders each stayed with me for 15 years. |

Start a career or on your current, then in your Cyclist tab, you locate the I'D on the riders contract and them find an edit the contract in the tab of the same name
Pm me if you need help

What I normally do is offer the rider a contract one year before his contract expires. F.e. when the rider leaves at the end of 2016, I'll offer him a new contract in 2015. The chance that he'll stay is way much bigger then, and it's not cheating.

If you offer a new contract one year early, when does the new contract start? At the end of the actual season or at the end of the old contract.
It the new contract starts earlier, then it might cost you more (because good riders normally request more money to stay).
But in no case, this can be called cheating, since the game allows it. |

If I want to keep a rider, I edit their contract until f.e. 2025. With that I can keep Tony Martin at OPQS forever.
@Top Poster: Maybe your team is CT and very good riders won't stay for long?

That doesn't work in PCM 2014. You can only renew a contract the year it expires, but the renewal window opens one month before everyone else can contract them.

I'll do that, even though it seems kinda cheaty. |
