Hello,
I have just completed the first year in career mode on PCM 2014. After starting the new (2015) season I have noticed that the vast majority of routes for the big stage races are the same as the previous year. The only ones that seem to have changed are the Tour de France (with a quite brutal Mont Ventoux time trial), the Tour de Romandie, Tour de Suisse and World Championships (although for the worlds I notice the road race is in Italy and the TT in the Netherlands). All the others, including the Giro and Vuelta, are the same.
I remember playing on some very imaginitive stages in past edtitions of PCM (including a stage up Scanuppia in the Giro!) so it would be a shame if some of the big races didn't refresh with new routes from year to year.
Does anyone know if the routes change during the season or if they do indeed stay the same year to year?
Thanks! |

They do stay the same each year, but you can download a database containing variants, the pcm.daily expansion pack is my suggestion or if you want your own routes or don't want the stats of another databse, you can add variants yourself, but I have know idea how to do that (someone else will) Good luck!

Ah right, a shame as some of the stages they came up with in previous editions of the game were really good! Wonder why they bothered with the Swiss races but not the others?!
Will look into the database.
Thanks. |

As trek said, yes, playing with the officialdatabase you will only find 1 variant per race in the most lucky cases (tdf, giro, vuelta etc.).
Adding a variant is quite easy if you don't wanna dl a complete databaase like the Expansion Pack. You don't even have to touch a db. Just download, for example, a Tour de France by emmea, and put it in ONE of these two folders (they're basically the same, only that documents has got an higher priority and it doesn't overwrite original game's files). The folders are: Game folder\CM_Stages OR MYDocs\Pro Cycling Manager 2014\Mod\Stages

Good stuff, thanks a lot. I just have one question if you or anyone else is able to answer it.
I have just downloaded a Giro d'Italia and Paris-Nice from the stages section and saved them into the second file you were talking about (Documents) as I got an error message when trying to copy it to the first file. I can see the race as an option for playing in single player stage race but I was wondering if there was any way I could import it into the career I am currently playing? Maybe it is not possible or I will have to wait until the next season in the career? |

If it's in the correct folder it will also go to your career automatically. You can either wait for the next season or change the variant in Lachi's Editor in DYN_Race and DYN_Stage.

To be honest I might wait until next season rather than trying to mess around with editors. I just hope that saving race routes to that documents file means my career will switch to the new routes when the season changes over?!?
Thanks for the help guys. |

Just try it: Put the files in the folder, go back in time* and look if it works.
* You can find backups of your career in a folder called weeklysaves. copy the last file from the previous season to your save game folder to be able to load it in the game. The save game folder is here: my documents\pcm14\users\your name\database\solo\name of db\ |
