The tour is heading for another flat stage, coming at 155km featuring some minor difficulties throughout the stage.

Meyer bounced back from a quiet second day to grab his win yesterday. Forero, Vingerling or Manarelli though were quite consistent on the past two days.

A 3-men-breakaway is allowed a bigger gap quickly: i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/mlj.png Dyadichkin, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/del.png Chen (as best-placed, + 2.26 in GC) and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/bon.png Paulinho!

Chen would take out the first intermediate sprint, which ain't really surprising..

i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/MG14_Reports/MG14_Guatemala/14Algerie_4_003_zps4556346e.jpg

55km to go and a higher pace in the bunch makes a first group with sprinters being dropped: i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/spr.png Awang, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/gnu.png Haedo, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/scl.png Uugunbayar and also i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/nor.png Schinker can't keep up with the peloton! Crosswinds (12kmh) ain't much of a factor today, so it's mainly due to Alpina's pace at the front of the peloton!

i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/MG14_Reports/MG14_Guatemala/14Algerie_4_004_zpsab93f57d.jpg

Also Fletcher-Garneau and ONCE show it's colors at the front now and those teams keep pulling the strings hard! The peloton is already reduced to 62 riders at this point (45km to go) and quite stretched, too..

i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/MG14_Reports/MG14_Guatemala/14Algerie_4_005_zps9675593e.jpg

17km before finish, the early escapees are swallowed by the bunch, which kept going into pieces in the meantime:

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/scl.png Sirionnachai (7th in GC)
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/esc.png Agnoli (9th)
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/gnu.png Herrara (12th)

as the most notable names being dropped as well! Dyadichkin, by the way, took out the second intermediate ahead of Chen..

i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/MG14_Reports/MG14_Guatemala/14Algerie_4_006_zps20d88aeb.jpg

This has been an unexpected tough day so far and we see just a 40-men-bunch entering the final 10km of the stage! Fletcher and TomTom now setting the pace there..

i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/MG14_Reports/MG14_Guatemala/14Algerie_4_007_zps802c73d7.jpg

..4km before finish though, Alpina is back at the front, setting today's only true train: i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/alp.png Parra/Forero are followed by i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/vtb.png Fonseca, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/flg.png Meyer, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ttt.png Vingerling and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/eub.png Euskaltel's "Fernandez-security-squad"!

i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/MG14_Reports/MG14_Guatemala/14Algerie_4_008_zps8e5dac4b.jpg

A few moments later, the situation looks quite different though, as Alpina's Parra couldn't really hold on to his good position at the front:

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/flg.png Vanderaerden/Meyer kick first, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ttt.png Vingerling and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/alp.png Forero right behind now.. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/vtb.png Fonseca going on his own further on the left!

..moving forward from the right side: i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/onc.png Cano/Guillén, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/gnu.png Richeze, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/esc.png Renshaw, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/bon.png Manarelli, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ioa.png Lemoine/Sinner!

i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/MG14_Reports/MG14_Guatemala/14Algerie_4_009_zpsd45d92e4.jpg

We're coming closer to the final kilometre and Vingerling goes into the lead with Meyer, Fonseca and Forero trying to hang on! Vanderaerden totally "collapses" though..

i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/MG14_Reports/MG14_Guatemala/14Algerie_4_010_zps05a8a10a.jpg

Vingerling enters the final km with a notable gap on Forero/Meyer/Fonseca and the remaining bunch quite a few more metres behind..

i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/MG14_Reports/MG14_Guatemala/14Algerie_4_011_zpse55fd3bf.jpg

Meyer now struggles to keep his pace, while Forero accelerates to go head-to-head with Vingerling! Fonseca still well positioned, while Renshaw/Manarelli are too far behind to battle for a podium, it seems.

i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/tsmoha/MG14_Reports/MG14_Guatemala/14Algerie_4_012_zps24726c7c.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/alp.png Forero takes out the fourth stage, his second win here! A close decision, but he had the better speed than i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ttt.png Vingerling in the end! i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/vtb.png Fonseca with a nice podium-finish ahead of i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/flg.png Meyer and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/esc.png Renshaw!

The first dropped group comes in at 1'47", with a second group already losing 2'58" today.. quite some major splits here on this flat parcours!

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/eub.png Fernandez and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/spr.png Zamri though avoided any trouble to keep their GC-placings. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/alp.png Forero moves up to 3rd ahead of i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ttt.png Vingerling, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/onc.png Guillén and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/flg.png Meyer. So except of those two in the lead, the sprinters take command of the GC's Top-10 here.
