OK, thanks to help from this forum I finally got my sprint train working. Team Joker made it through tough times financially at the end of the year, but the results were so good it was promoted to Pro-Continental.
Now in the first races of Febraury 2015 (GP de Bessèges) I have finished some stages in top 10 with a sprint talent who is a addition to the team. However, today (07. feb 2015 race time) on the 4th stage Sabran-Pont Saint Esprit I had Our New sprinter coming in at 4th Place, and the leadout man at 6th or maybe 7th not 100% sure about that. Then as the game started showing the awards at the podium, they were nowhere to be seen in the top 10 lists. (SHould have been in stage, total time, and Young rider but they were nowhere). Searching the results list after the awards ceremonies I found them at the bottom with "withdrawal" instead of time.
I mean, what the *!"#¤!# ? Since when are riders withdrawing from a race after finish line? I don't understand this....
Questions to the forum:
- anybody else experienced something similar?
- this looks like a bug to me, does it look like a bug to you?
- if it is a bug, is it possible to "turn back the clock" and run the stage again and hope it doesn't fail the same way?
OR
- is this "user errror"?
Unfortunately, There are no screenshots or movie as this was noticed at the podiums first. Everything looked just fine as they passed the finish line in 4th and 6th (or maybe 7th). s a rule of thums.)
Then they both appeared as "withdrawn" in the results list. I guess it wouln't help too much to see just that or are you gettiing at something I don't understand?
(I am racing career mode this is 2nd season same team)
Partial explanation in the message inbox next day: broken arm and broken hand, but they did cross the finish line and later withdrawn because of this? (they hadn't had any falls in the race either). The 4th Place was lost for no apparent reason.
I'll say it is a bug!
Update: it happened again - another race (GP Dubai) - different riders (same team). Sprinter crosses line in top 10, but in the results, time is set to "withdrawal" and he is listed last. I noticed there was a retardation before he crossed the line, but there wasn't anything like a fall. This time I saved race replay and can make a video, but not before tomorrow (bedtime!)
Remember that this is a game, nothing works like in real life cycling, so I would not call it a bug but rather bad luck.
But there is a way to go back in time. Copy the latest file from the weeklysave folder to the save game folder, then load it in the game. As the name of the folder suggests, you might go back about a week.
The save game folder is here: My documents\pcm14\users\your name\database\solo\name of db\

A screenshot would be incredibly helpful
Here is a movie, I hope that will do. If you are short on time skip to just before the finish line. My point is: the rider in question (Skjerping, With the polkadot jersey) was withdrawn from the race after this finish. The video shows him finishing somewhat stupidly blocked on a 100 m wide road but nevertheless finishing in good style, so this "accident" is not realistic in any way.
ProCycling Manager 2014 has quite realistic falls w/animation. For example, just before the start of the movie a rider on another team falls and finishes last because of that. The intuitive way would be for trauma injuries to be linked to an event in the race. Fall --> trauma (for example: broken skull injury as in this case). That would be bad Luck, but understandable. When the race features both trauma injuries and falls but there is no link between them (this is what I now believe is the case) it fells like the game is cheating me (and you): introducing a broken skull after the 3D animation showed the rider finishing in good style?
Maybe it is not a bug, but a poorly designed feature still.
I try again: here is the video https://youtu.be/4-redeIeQck used url-link instead of youtubelinkbutton on here

On subsequent ITT stage (Bessèges 6th and final) my team should be down to 5 riders, after one dropped to unknown illness, one broke his hand and the last one broke his arm.
Now what happens in the ITT is that usually your riders are liste from the worst to the best on your team on the left of the screen in the rider control panels (according to the usual reverse starting order).
That should put M. Brändle as my best placed rider lowest in the left corner, but he was missing from the list. Instead, a no-name rider was added in the 3rd position. Already from the start of the 1st rider this mysterious 3rd rider was shown with a beating heart and the blue remaining distance bar "full". When the mysterious 3rd man was about to start, the game crashed. (I kept hoping it would be Brandle after all but and everything would somehow work...fail).
I take this as an indication that indeed there is probably a database problem, maybe a file corruption error and think the right thing to do is go for the weekly backup and see if the problem can be avoided.
Below I post a screen showing the "mysterious 3rd no-name" that showed up on my team. screenshot taken after 2nd rider finished.
Uhm... looks like your save is totally fucked up. I'd open the save with an editor, look into dyn_cyclist, filter the riders by team so that only your team's riders appear. Look in fkid_race. There should be only Ous; Svendsen; Eiking and La Cour and that Mister X with a number that is not 0. Put 0 instead of the current number to Mister X, not sure if it will work though.

I went back a week as per LAchi's advice, and on the next pass through GP de Bessèges there was one dropped rider but he was always falling off the back of the peloton so that was different in a way. Will wait and see if more problems appear.
