I really want to create a custom team in the Career Mode and i don't know how much money to spend on riders. Are you meant to spend all $1,000,000 or leave some. I want to create a decent team but not too good with riders like Pinot and Coquard and the rest 70-77 avg. thanks
i'm pretty sure you can spend as much as you want, but the rest of the money is all of the money in your bank account, so you don't want to use too much, also you have to remember that you won't have a too big sponsor wage bill, depending on your division. and you have to give those riders wages.
There is no rest money, the game does not work like that. The million is a limit so that you don't build a team with superstars only, but other than that, you are free to do whatever you want.
Once you have selected your riders and start the career, the sponsor budget will be based on the contracts of the selected riders.
There are certain rules which define the league your team will start in, I think it is based on rider count and wages but I am not sure. This should be explained in the online guide.

Yeah, if you want to build a contipro team with decent riders you must remain within the 600000 € limit. If you want to build a WT team the only limit you have to respect is the 1000000 € you have to spend. If you want to build a continental team IIRC you have to stay within the 900000 € limit. As Lachi correctly said there is not rest money when you finished to build the custom team. It always depends from the league you are in. So, obviously you will have more money form the sponsor with a WT team and less with a ContiPro, even less with a Continental. Though, you can edit your finances
