Hi all,
I try to change some caracteristics of certain cyclists as I find sometimes it has changed!
I know DB exist but I watched some videos that show it very easy to do, accessing the existing DB to modify it.
However to access the DB, u have to click on DB EDITOR (I suppose on the beginning "popup screen" that I cannot upload here, don't know why...).
But I don't have this screen....
I have a (bought) downloaded Steam version, this should be the reason I think... I have directly the large black home screen.
I know the DB exists in cbd format, but of course I can't open it and even less modify it!
If someone knows...

You should use an alternative editor. My recommendations are Lachi's editor (thread in PCM14:Databases) or the PCM Fast Editor (Google). Open/extract your .cdb there, and if you have any question feel free to ask.

Like Selwink said, you can use another editor.
But you should be able to find the editor which came with the game, if you look into the folders of the game installation folder. You can see the exact path in steam, I think if you right click the game and then go to the properties.
I should be something like C:\Program files\steam\common\steamapps\PCM14 |

Thx both!
I found the DB editor based on the path u gave me, FYI if needed it's exactly
C:\...\Steam\SteamApps\common\Pro Cycling Manager 2014\DatabaseEditor
Now I launch the game and hope the changes occur in the season I already begun! |

OK I changed some stats.
But when I launch the game, no change....
So, shall I begin a new career to see them appear?
I precise I followed these steps to change (1. change stat, 2. click on Edit, 3. create CDB, 4. overwrite) maybe I forgot sth... |

If you edit the database, you have to start a new career.
But you could also edit the save of your career, which can be found here: my documents\pcm2014\users\your name\database\solo\name of db\ |

Hi!
Thx (again) for the tip!
However I manage to change settings within my current used DB, but when I want to save it (overwrite or create a new file) I have a popup saying I cannot because of:
"the reference of the object is not defined to an instance of an object" (sorry for the translation, it's written in french actually)
do u know what to do in that case? |

Are you still using the official editor? Are you sure you did everything the same way as yesterday when it worked?
Maybe you should try another editor. |

What editor did you decide to use?

Yeah exactly the same except that I take my saved file corresponding to my career.
I use effectively the official editor.
It seems to work, but doesńt want me to validate the changes.
To be sure, the cdb file i have to modify to make changes appear in my current career is the file corresponding to my saved career isnt it? It´s called sth like "career.1-03-17-2104.cdb"
In case îll try ur editor! |

The official editor isn't really an editor. It only edits dyn_cyclist and dyn_team and it doesn't do it completely at all. Try with the Fast Editor or with thge Lachi's Editor.

I already told you where you can find your save. Normally, it has no date in the file name.

If it does not work with the official editor, try my editor. It looks a bit more complicated but it should work with saves also. |
