I'm playing an Australian Continental team. So not world beaters sta-twise, but then most of the continental races they are entered in have mostly competition around the same mark stat-wise.
But lately it seems the ai picks its top 3 in a stage and cheats its ass off to make it happen.
I re-run the same stage 9 times a while back and the same 3 riders finished top 3 in 8 of them, despite trying different tactics each time.
Last stage I raced, 1 of my riders, with plenty of green bar, all red bar and most of yellow with 73 on the flat and +5 form doing 95 effort....got blown past at around 10k to go by a Rider leading a sprint train (not sprinting yet tho) with a flat skill of 58?????
So is this just a game quirk I'm over-obsessing on or DOES the ai cheat its ringer out?
What form does your rider have? What difficulty do you play on?
1. If his is form is 6 and the other could be one, stats don't matter much anymore, as your rider is pretty much useless
2. Difficulty affects the AI stats. Easy gives the AI -2.5%, normal 0% change, hard +2.5% and extreme +5%. If you have one of the latter, this might have influence.

Yeah, did you somehow edit local.cdb and the difficulties?

Early in race he had upward slanting arrow, later a +5
Difficulty on Normal
did you somehow edit local.cdb and the difficulties?
Database I'm using is PCM Daily's 2014 db v1.
I wouldn't have a clue how to edit so haven't ever attempted to.
Stage is Stage 1 of Oberosterreichrundfahrt if you want to see the stage layout.
I don't know what pull a Cancellara means?
Just don't see the point of continuing this game (thats mostly a database game chock full of stats for everything) if the stats don't mean anything to the gameplay? Just seems like a lottery.

Well... It is strange. Did you install latest patch, the 1.4, right?
If your rider's fitness is at 5 then that's a very good reason why your rider is blown away. This game has become steadily complicated over the years. Mostly for the good, some for the bad. Not only are base stats important to watch over, but fitness is key in applying for races that you want/need to win. A 5 fitness rider who is great can easily be blown away by a mediocre rider who is in peak fitness.

ummm I have the spring update for it installed, dont know if that's 1.4 or not.
Where would I check?[/quote]
When you first start up the game, look at the top left corner of the main menu. It should say "v1.0.4.0", which means you have the latest patch installed. If not, you can download it from here https://pcmdaily.c...p?catid=85
I'm fairly new to the game mechanics myself, but it seems the "normal form"/fitness is very important to how well your rider will be able to do. It takes a bit of getting used to, but you can win those races once you get the hang of it.
yea its most likely the fitness like you say. I rested him for about 3 weeks as he had a heavy load prior & didn't realise his fitness would drop so much. I should have checked.
