Hi everyone,
Just got this game and need some advice on the best database to download to suit my preferences!
Basically here as the things I would like to change:
1) Real names for riders and teams
2) Some new teams? - NTFO in Britain and some more continental teams?
BUT:
I am only running this game on a laptop and want to keep the current good performance and speed, and my graphics card is nothing special.
With all this in mind which database should I download?
If adding new teams means the game is unable to run I wont get it, but I would definitely like to have real names for the riders.
Many thanks. |

Well, you can change the names of the riders and teams yourself on the DB editor.

I'd recommend the PCM.daily Expansion Pack as it has all the things you are looking for and is basically focused on Western Europe and America. And as far as I know it has the least problems/bugs of all databases.

there are databases that only change the names like the ones made by canojuancho, the dutch/belgian community. take a look at the download section on the right under Pro Cycling Manager 14 but for the new teams, most likely you need to require to download a rather big db pack (rather big if I you would don't have much memory to use ) |

So is the expansion pack a big drain on memory? It would take forever to change riders names myself!
It's just that riders like Adam Blythe (favourite rider) arent even in the game as his team, NTFO, arent in it. |

well it was a drain on my memory but that might be perhaps because I have little memory anyway

how many GB does it take up on the hard drive? Does it have increased graphics needs? Also does this data base change names too?
Do you have to download the new patch too? And after downloaded how do you load it up to a career game? |

unsure about the first two things, but all databases release usually have all the names changed.
that's with the PCMdaily database suggested by silvio, the ones I suggested are small.
you can't load in into a career, you'll need to start a new career for most of the changes to work.

So if i download one of the databases and I dont like it or it doesnt work properly, can I just delete it or not pick it as an option and the game will have the factory settings like it has now? |

No, you will have that database graphics.
Anyway, the EP is around 10 gb unpacked (ROM) but it won't affect too much your RAM memory.
If you only want a realname db, I'd suggest you Cycling Manager ita realname db, though it doesn't correct the names for RusVelo. Anyway, it is the best.

Okay so how does the PcmExpansion change the performance of the game? I am running it on a laptop with a standard graphics card? I am scared it will make it not work, or reduce the speed of the game and ive seen some bad comments about it! |

You won't have problems at all. If you can run Pcm 14 without problems, then you will run the Ep as well.
