Game crashing when starting a career

Hello.

Apparently my game has broken over these last 2 weeks where i haven't been playing.

I haven't been adding anything besides the Young rider download from Kentaurus and a whole bunch of stages.

But haven't had this problem until now. Basicly i press career and pick a team, and in the middle of the loading process, it crashes.

It doesn't matter if i use the original DB or a downloaded one, it crashes either way. This should be the info at the time my game crashes.

Hope someone can help me out.

Hello Dusen,

very strange I have exatly the same problem on PCM 2013...
I played two differents careers and the both worked well until the date of 12 May 2013 include where it crashed for the both !!!
I could play all the races from 12 and 13 May in Solo stage mode without any problems at all...

To try something, I deleted the both folders Pro Cycling Manager 2013 :

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Mes documents\Pro Cycling Manager 2013
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Pro Cycling Manager 2013

Then I renew my profile and I recreated a new third career with original game database.
I could choose my team and it crashes during LOADING and obtain the same end than You !!!

Great, a game that I could play only 2 careers from 1-1-2013 until 12-5-2013 and now career mode is totally unplayable !!!

I doubt that anybody here can or will analyse the error log.

But if the career is broken, consider a fresh install of the game.
1. Uninstall the game
2. Remove everything from C:\program files\pcm14\ (or wherever your game was installed)
3. Install the game
4. Install the patch
5. Test if a new career is working
6. Install a db or expansion pack
7. Test if a new career is working
8. Install the xml-files from Kentaurus
9. Test if a new career is working
10. Install the stages
11. Test if a new career is working

Thank you Lachi for your answer,

I wouldn't like to reinstall PCM 2013 because I personalized it enough to not rebegin again !
furthermore I find it unfair from Cyanide to limit the reinstall at 5 times when the bugs are not resolved...
and Solo Mode is working at least...

To repair Career Mode :

1- Check and rebuild the CM_Stages folder as all the stages from the original PCM 2013
(I certanly removed or renamed stages in adding new races or variants since my first install.)
I used this list https://forum.pcmfocus.com/topic/17828...28-stages/ to know the original files in the folder CM_Stages after a fresh installation
Unfortunatly it misses me 2 files, I don't know if they are important or not for the career : Stage0.cds + Stage0.zces
I also replaced a lot of linkstages .cdx by the realstages .cds + .zces files for exemple
t0_burgos_01_2012.cdx became t0_burgos_01_2012.cds + t0_burgos_01_2012.zces
2- Open PCM 2013 in Solo Mode and click on all stages one by one to correct the one that crashes until all are available
3- In using the OfficialRelease.cdb database, a miracle happened, I could again create a Career !!!
4- Now, I'm trying to compare the OfficialRelease.cdb original database and MONOD_2013.cdb
to see where is the problem on my personalized database...

Do you think is necessary to reinstall PCM 2013 at this point ? or my MONOD_2013.cdb could make it work again ?
If you see what could be the problem, I would appreciate any help.

Dunno how much it could help as I'm not intendibg to even try to read that log, but in PCM Fast Editor that you fibd in pcm 11 dl section, there is a clean up optio that analyzes a cdb file and shows the potential, and remember potential, errors innit. At first glance youll most likely see tons of errors but don't worry, it's normal. When you find sonething weird you may ask here, don't hesitate Wink

I knew this CLEAN UP + FIND PROBLEM Button on Fast Editor and used it already.
I repaired lot of mistakes and so, my Database MONOD_2013.cdb shows 0 mistakes but
doesn't want create any career. Actually, I'm comparing the both database :

- OfficialRelease.cdb original database that works now to create career and
my personalized MONOD_2013.cdb that doesn't work anymore for career only !

Difference between them :

1/ STA_UCI_class/gene_strID_UCI_class (0 vs 122)


25     0   2456   OlympicsTT   25   1   9   6   fc3702   National   OfficialRelease
25   122   2456   OlympicsTT   25   1   9   6   fc3702   National   MONOD_2013


2/ STA_stage/fkIDregion

impossible to choose FRA on IDstage 1399 (TRACK...) this is the value I see on the OfficialRelease

this is not related to your problem but your comment about the limit of 5 installations. This is not true, as you can install the game as often as you want. Just don't de-activate the game during uninstallation and don't re-activate the game during installation.

Thanks for your point, I would have to tell : we could install PCM 2013 on 5 différents computer maximum !
