PCM 14 Database Rankings
Dancycling
Dancycling Database Rankings:

1. PCM.daily - Just an all-round DB that delivers in all areas to make the game a lot more playable. Only downside is no start lists.
Content: A
Bugs: A+
Download and Installation: B+
Stats: A+
Overall: A
2. PackITA - This is like a mini PCM.daily Expansion Pack. Offers the best Content when considering the download size. This DB also presents a good stat matrix and suitable rider attributes.
Content: B+
Bugs: A+
Download and Installation: A-
Stats: A
Overall: A-
3. ASO DB - Great amount of variants and other features. Has a nice stat matrix and the stats are very good, second best, IMO, to PCM.daily.
Content: A-
Bugs: B
Download and Installation: C-
Stats: A
Overall: B+
4. FCD - Massive amount of teams, races, etc... By far the most extensive DB. May slow down career simulation and Progress
Content: A+
Bugs: B
Download and Installation: B-
Stats: A-
Overall: B
5. FDB14 - An odd stat matrix and blindingly incorrect stats. Not a very stable DB and lacks a real 'wow' factor. The content is very broad and the download size isn't very intimidating.
Content: B+
Bugs: B
Download and Installation: A+
Stats: C
Overall: B-

Feel free to post your own rankings. I will only rank these five as they are the only ones really worth downloading at the moment.

OK so this post has nothing to do with this thread but im not satisfied with the dbs i have downloaded and tried so far. So my question is which database has the most realistic stats, most dbs i have checked out only do accurate stats for the world tour teams and leave the Pro and Conti teams untouched so i was wondering who has the best db when it comes to stats?? None of the DB's are going to get absolute perfect stats to what you want as everyone thinks differently and has a different opinion, if you have a problem with the stats then change them instead of complaining because we're not going to change them because your not satisfied.

Stats arent the most important part of a DB imho. However, I would say that ASO DB has the best stats and is the best all-round DB

I think you will find very differing opinions on that. I think the stats probably are the most important, as when the complete packs are out, they will all pretty much feature a long list of teams, races and variants. The biggest difference will be the stats.

I say the same. The stats are the most important in PCM

Don't get me wrong. I still enjoy a database which has realistic statistics for each rider. However, I will prefer a good all-round stable database above the one which has the most realistic stats any day of the week. It is just lucky for me that PCM.daily is the best in both of those areas.

EDIT: Rider stats are also largely down to personal preferences therefor there can never really be a perfect DB in terms of stats because everyone will have their own opinion.

Feel free everyone to add what you think of each database as I haven't played them all. Be sure to comment on your favourite DB so far and why

I've tested A.S.O.D.B 2014, FCD 2014 and PackITA 2014. So far the one I enjoy the most is PackITA.

A.S.O.D.B. 2014 is working on improving his DB; FCD 2014 has a LOT of races that slows down simulating and makes for a dragging season. Both of these databases have lots of stats in the 80's, which I personally don't like.

PackITA has a nice balance, it has, in my opinion, realistic stats, in the upper 70's, and it doesn't have many races, which for me, is good, because I prefer quality over quantity.

There is a new database, FDB14 v2.0, that is going to be released soon, that follows the same format, quality over quantity. When you have a lot of races, seasons get too long. In the meantime, I'm enjoying PackITA.

I absolutely love the fcd database for playing with continental teams... for playing with world tour teams there are tot many stages to simulate... but i love all the different versions of races!

That is a feature of whatever team you play with FCD 2014. I played with a Continental Team (La Antarte) and the season was long and gruesome. It doesn't matter if it's WT or CT, it's long in both. I'm in my mid 30s, I have a business, a dog and responsabilities, I can't sit on my ass playing all day through a third of a season. Sorry Frenchies and Oleg, I'm sticking with the Italians and the PackITA 2014. Kind of surprising not many more people are choosing it over others, I love the stats in the upper ceiling of 70s.

Cheers.

You cannot blame the DB makers for the simulation duration. If they add teams, they have to add races as well.

The problem is the slow simulation. I think that PCM14 is slower than previous games, even the official databases are too slow for my liking. And the combination of slow simulation, not being able to simulate to a any date and simulation settings resetting itself made me stop playing this game for good.
