Let's say that we have 2 riders: one that has 82 MO, 69 TT and another one with 81 MO, 76 TT. Whom would you pick to be your GC for the Tour de France 2014, taking into consideration that it has only one ITT? (Let's assume that the rest of the stats are similar, maybe the guy with higher TT also has a higher FL.)

The guy with higher TT (you have to take a look at fitness and rhythm also)

I'd probably go for the extra point in mountain. One 54km ITT is really not enough to justify the bonus in the TT stat. |

Really interesting question. I'd go with higher TT option, simply because you can lose alot on that ITT with 69TT and I'm not sure whether you can really lose more than 3-4 minutes (that is realistic gap between Froome f.e and 69 TT guy on 54km long ITT) with just one lower MO stat.

TT is more important in that type of situation. 1 MO point doesn't make that large a difference.

Better TT would do a lot better than higher MO. You will lose about a minute with the lower MO, but could lose several minutes with a bad TT. |
