Hi there
I have a question, with all the brands in the equipment now I don't really know how to implement my team gear.
So I have the teams frames and everything, but where do I put it in so I can use it and not the 'standard' frame ?
I have been looking around in the cdb, and following equipment throughout it, but I just don't get it, for example:
For team belkin in DYN_team there is a collumn fkIDequipment_marques_cadre where it states '13'. Allthough when I open STA_equipment_model and find 13 in the collumn fkIDequipment_marque
all I see are Cervélo stuff. Even though Belkin rides with their Bianchi in game.
Can anyone write like sort of a tutorial so I and others who want to play with their custom team with equipment know what to do?
GrTz

I can read out of your post that you know how to edit cdb's so I tell you how I did it in a short overview.
In DYN_team you have the 4 equipment slots roue, cadre, helmet, glasses.
Now you want a specific frame for your team.
So you need the equipment_marques_cadre slot.
There you put in the IDbrand of your choice from STA_brand (remember it should be a frame so have a look at IDbrand_type "1" .
Now maybe you think it should work, but wait! When I tried to start a single race I didn't get the frame (IDbrand) I implemented in the equipment_marques_cadre slot.
So what I did next I opend DYN_brand_contract and there I did the following:
IDbrand_contract: next number available
IDteam: the number of the team in DYN_team you want for using the frame
IDbrand: the number we implemented in equipment_marques_cadre
gene_i_year_contract: I wrote "2014". Haven't tested something else yet.
value_i_budget: same as all the others "0"
gene_b_sponsor_lock: this is when your main or second sponsor is a manufacturer of the frame you can set this to "1". examples: Cannondale, BMC
value_i_years_left: years left until the contract is over. Set mine to 5.
After that I got the frame all the time.
The same goes for helmets, glasses and wheels
I hope this short instruction helps.

Thanks for the reply, I do get it how your worked, only thing I find strange is that you are talking about the equipment_marques_roue slot while that is for wheels and not for frames, so I'm a bit confused about that now.
Since opening this thread I've been looking into it myself and it seems that the collumns equipment_marques_roue, equipment_marques_cadre, equipment_marques_helmet and equipment_marques_glasses have no use anymore...
Because like I said: if you take for example Belkin, in DYN_team it appears they would be riding with Cervélo, but they are listed in STA_brand_contract with Bianchi, so they ride Bianchi.
I still haven't found out how the glasses work though, because there are no contracts for that and the numbers in DYN_team go for frames, so I guess they are random.
Again thanks for bringing clarity into this!
Another short question though: say I want to replace Movistar's Canyon frame. In what table can I find the name of the file I am looking for? Can't seem to find it as in equipment_model there are only the basic frames and not the team ones :/

Sorry, you are right roue is for wheels and cadre is for frames my foult.
I will correct it.
I also think that the equipment collumns in DYN_team are useless. When I implemented the equuipment there it just showed once and after that never again.
For the glasses just add a new line in DYN_brand_contract as I wrote on post #2 and use the IDbrand from STA_brand of the lunettes you want. It worked for me.

Yep, for the glasses I will, thanks
Any idea about the filename of the teamframes? |

Can you go more into detail?
Do I understand right that you want to know how to get your personal nif and dds files into the cdb and not use the standard Cyanide frames?

You understand right that I have a personal nif and dds files, and I want to get them into the cdb, but I don't know where I have to put in the name of it.
It's a Specialized frame but they are for my custom team. |

put the nif and dds files into the same folder as in the last PCM versions.
then copy the name of the files into "STA_equipment_model" in "gene_sz_asset" where you created your frame.
In "gene_sz_name" you can set the name of the frame, which you can see then on the equipment section in game.

Ok, thanks, and if I find a better version of a Movistar Canyon frame, where do I find what name I have to give it? Because I can't find those names in the gene_sz_asset collumn in STA_equipment_model |

You have to put the name of your frame in the slot "gene_sz_asset" so the game can find it in the frames folder of PCM.
for example:
movistar_canyon_frame.nif, ... .dds
put "movistar_canyon_frame" in the "gene_sz_asset" slot.
If you just want to overwrite an existing frame that is already in the game e.g. Frm_Damonb_XXXXXX_00 rename movistar_canyon_frame to it.
But I would recommend you to create a new frame.
the main pages we are working on are:
STA_brand
STA_equipment_model
DYN_brand_contract
* STA_brand is the first thing you need to do if you want to create a own category for your equipment.
IDbrand: next number available
gene_sz_name: name of your brand e.g. Specialized, Trek, Colnago, Wilier, ...
IDbrand_type: 1 is for frame poly if you want something else have a look at STA_brand_type
IDbrand_link: haven't tested it but it looks there you can link frames with wheels or helmets
value_f_pts: no idea what that means "0"
IDcountry_main: first i thought this is the nation it comes from, but it looks like it is for the nations they prefer for contracts.
IDcountry_secondary: same as above
IDtype_rider: it looks like when you put in a certain number it gives the frame a bonus on a specific type (STA_type_rider). If you want a normal allround frame just set in "0"
the 3 last slots are also filled with "0"
STA_equipment_model
First you need to create a new line:
IDequipment_model: next number available or higher number
fkIDequipment_marque: the number of the frame brand (IDbrand) placed in STA_brand*
fkIDequipment_template: there you put in 1 if you have a normal frame. Other numbers are in STA_equipment_template
gene_sz_name: name of your frame you can see in the equipment section, in the game itself
gene_sz_asset: here you place the name of your frame you want to see in the 3d game, e.g. movistar_canyon_frame instruction above
gene_IDphoto: haven't tested it so go with the others "0"
value_i_version: I think this is for the career mode which version you are using
value_i_default: I don't know what this is for I just set "20" as some of the other frames are too
value_i_lastyear_up: This might be the last time the frame was developed it is for the career mode again if you set this up to date you are not able to do a upgrade for the first year
value_i_state: "0"
This is all I can tell you. Maybe I will create a tutorial with pictures to make it "more visible" what I mean and it is easier to understand. |

Oh I see, so in DB's that have come out, the frames are autocolored and there are no specific team frames used?
Because in their STA_equipment_model all I see are the XXX_ frames
For me it is clear what you are saying, but I've been editing DB's since pcm 10 and I just couldn't figure out the new system, thanks to you I do now. So thanks!

My pleasure!
Yes the cyanide frames are autocolored. Maybe you put in a neutral frame or take an autocolored too.
I got the problem with my specific specialized helmet in blue. In a stage race 4 other teams wear the same helmet in the same color. So this was not funny to look at.
So I used a autocolored helmet after that. It works but the autocolor ain't looking really good, no shapes, no dark and light parts.
So maybe the upcoming expansion pack of pcmdaily has got a solution for this. Let's hope the best.

you need to save the file in the DDS-format. You can use Gimp or paint.net for it.
In Gimp you need a tool for this so you better take paint.net be sure to save the DDS with DXT3 parameters.
That's how I do it. |

ty very much for your help its perfect now.
the only thing missing is the equipments photos, but i wanted to have the 3D photos like cyanide has, i just dont know how to do that.
still the paths in the db and local file are done, if i figure out how to do it i will just add them to the game |
