I am using the "Basic Realname Database" for the career mode. I've come across the hilly classics: Amstel, La Fleche Wallonne and LBL... and Valverde won all of them! Isn't he a bit overpowered? My results were good, top 5 with Tejay at Amstel (+26'', 2nd place with Kwiatkowski at FW (+0'' and 2nd place with Kwia at LBL (+2'20''. Valverde is 83 hills and I buffed Kwiatkowski to 84 using the training camps.
At LBL he seemed very strong, he attacked with 2 or 3 hills left, tried to relay with some of my guys, but couldn't catch him. Even dot 85+ and protection from another team-mate didn't work. And none of the other favourites could close the gap on him (e.g. Daniel Martin, Rodriguez).
I would also like to hear some tips regarding hilly stages (maybe I am not using the best strategy).

On such short hills, relaying and pacing doesn't have as much effect as attacking. What I normally do is note who the favourites are and if any of them attack, I will follow their wheel and then do no work in the break. I will do this until the last hill where I set my rider to follow a wheel at the front and when the last km is reached ill launch the sprint. This has worked well for me as I won both LBL and Amstel with Gerrans. Whilst I only lost Fleche because Gilbert and myself started marking each other and lower tier favourites like Kreuziger managed to get away.
