This years Tour has almost come to an end, only a few stages left. We already know the winner (99% sure), Vincenzo Nibali. He was by far the best climber. 198 riders from 22 different teams, 18 Pro Tour and 4 Continental Tour. We had quite some crashes throughout these weeks, resulting in an early 'Abandon' for favorites like Froome and Contador. The battle between the three would be EPIC, and it makes the win less worth for Nibali because he gets questioned whether he would have won if those two would compete.
This all needs to change in my opinion.
What about this:
Only the 18 UCI World Tour Teams participate.
They bring 7 riders each. That means there are 126 riders, which is perfectly fine. The 4 Continental Teams hardly achieve anything except for doing some breakaways.
The 4 Continental teams are trying to show themselves and get some fans, be well knowned that effects of being Pro-Tour team. Like if there were no race that Cont teams can show to a larger group, how they can be a Pro-Tour team?
You can not think a super climber like Nibali,Valverde,Rodriguez even Pinot,Bardet rides for a Pro-Continental team.
The Idea of making that 9 riders for some teams that brings 2 leaders Like FDF.fr . Demare and Pinot are the leaders. Demare will have 2 domestiques like Arthur Vichot, Pinot will have 3 like Jeannesson. And some free elements to catch up some wins by breakaway.
I know It will be more exciting just with the Pro-Tour teams but that is how cycling works IN REAL LIFE. But IN GAME that would be awesome.
