Game crashes when clicking load

As title says the game crashes whenever I attempt to get to the menu to load a saved game, is there any way to fix this or circumvent that screen and open from outside of the game?

Normally this happens when the game crashed while saving. In this case, the save is broken and has to be removed.

To restore your career, you can try to load the automatic backup of your save or if it doesn't work, you can load the lastest weekly save.

The automatic backup has the same file name as the save but with a ~ at the end. First remove the broken save, then delete the ~ from the backup to be able to load it in the game.

If this doesn't work, copy the latest file from the weeklysave folder to the save game folder and then load it in the game.

Your save is here: my documents\pmc14\users\your name\database\solo\name of database\
