Hi all, still a noob with changing the game through downloads. Last year being the first and using FCD datababses.
My question is, if i say insert the Jackie Durrands sponsor downloads, and then add say the new FCD when it comes out, and a misc variants pack will it all work within the one game instance ??
Well for the variants it depends on the naming. Any files where they use the same name will overwrite and you will lose the first one you installed.
This won't break anything but it won't help either. If they don't overlap then you are fine. You can fix the file naming but that will take some more time and you would have to be motivated.
For example if they both include a c1_cholet_2015 it will overwrite. But if one of them has c1_cholet_v1 then you will end up with two variants. The link below is an explanation of the variant naming. I haven't looked at PCM 2014 but I don't think it has changed
Not familiar with the sponsor kit file, my guess is that the sponsor kits are better than what will be in big DB like the FCD DB (although FCD may include them already) so if you do FCD first and then the sponsor kits it will overwrite any lessor files and you will be fine. But I am guessing on this one.
Is there any variants in the game, or will the TdF be the same every year?
If its the same every year; can I download a variant stage pack and use it in my save or do I need to start a new save?
You can download Oleg`s stage pack, that is in the download section.
Then you can add those to any savegame withoure a restart luckily. Just add the stages into the right folder.
One more Q; Is it possible to download a pack with sponsors? Im starting my second season with FDJ.fr soon, and the general sponsor will end before the third season. Is it possible for e.g. Coca-Cola or BP to offer a sponsorship deal without starting a new save?
If your career is based on a database which does not include realistic sponsors, you would need to edit them into your save. If only the jerseys are wrong, you could download the real jerseys and replace the fake ones.
