Hello all!
First of all am new to this genre of games but a huge cycle fan,
So i got the team orders and things pretty well worked out, but how to choose to select the riders for each stage? or is the automatic choice of the game also a decent option?
For example is it wise to use Cavendish in the Tour of Oman? and more of such things..
Anyways hope to hear from you guys and or girls soon , and sorry about the probably lame question but keep doubting my decisions.
greetings, Jeri |

It's no problem.
It's important to have Cav in good shape and freshness. If you have him peak for San Remo and the Tour, I recommend Dubai, Qatar and the Tirreno before San Remo, and before the Tour AToC, Suisse and the nationals. You can also add 3-5 race days before San Remo if you want to, plus perhaps another race in June

Speaking of, when is the season planner coming out, does anyone know?
But anyways, I also recommend giving Cav's best lead outs on his fitness peaks. If you want to win stages in the Tour, then you also need to make the leadout peak their fitnnes at the Tour. And it is best, in my opinion, to have about 80-90 race days in a season.
Hope this helps!

@rogvi97: The game comes with a season planner. Or are you talking about my planner? I might never release a fully working planner. But you can download the beta version of my planner for PCM 2013, maybe it works with PCM 2014 too.
@Jerivian: I recommend that you let the game do the planning in your first career. (The game is very buggy at the moment, so no need to waste time on planning.)
Basically you let the game do the fitness planning and let it assign riders to the races. When the race starts, you will see the fitness of your riders participating in the race. Now you can decide if it is worth playing the stage or just simulating it. If you play, set weak and unfit riders to auto-mode and play with the strong and fit riders.

You have to take into account that while for you (let's say) Oman is just a preparation race to build up form, some smaller teams may set it as their goal and worse cyclist might beat the better one when the first in peak form while the latter has only 3-5.

You can only win simulated races if your riders are in perfect shape.
My suggestion to simulate was to prevent wasting time on races you cannot win anyway because of bad form. |

Still don't know why people plan their seasons beforehand. I just select riders for each race as it comes. Always weporked well for me.

If you want to win a race with a certain rider, then you have to plan in advance.
If you want to win on harder difficulty, you might have to plan in advance.
If you want to play a manager game, then you should plan your season.
But as you said, this game allows you to play without it.
At least the automatic planning is a very good feature of the game.
