Cannot Start PCM

Well ever since I bought PCM there have only been problems. First it accidentally went to my dad's email instead of mine. Then I had to reinstall because some files were lost.
Finally I managed to download and install the game successfully. And right on cue I got another problem.
I went to the Autorun menu, pressed play, and then it went bad. So first the loading circle appeared above the mouse. The menu closed and it look as though it was going to start. but then literally nothing else happened. I wait a few minutes and nothing happened.
I went on task manager and it was no longer listed in Applications, but still was in Processes. When I pressed "end task" again nothing at all happened.
I had a similar problem once in PCM 11, and so I looked back on that. But that issue was resolved via renaming the My Documents PCM folder. In this case, there is no My Docs folder for PCM, because I haven't been able to launch the game or even create a profile. I've been pulling my hair out over PCM for the whole day with no luck.
Anyone have any ideas?

Try turning off your antivirus/firewall or seeing if its maybe being blocked already.
I figure the new "not needing to open ports for online" has changed some sort of code with the online part of the game and your av doesn't like that, just like there were online changes for PCM 11, which I personally had problems with.

Yup. Same result as opening from the autorun menu.

Do you have windows 8? Try running it in compatibility mode in an older version of windows?

I reinstalled and now I have something I got in 2 other installation tries.
The installation goes as normal until the very end. When it says "finishing installation," it takes forever. It's been going now for 30 minutes. Other times it's gone for 1 and a half hours. Obviously something is wrong here.

This actually happened to me last year. Do you use a laptop? Mine had to be plugged in for it work for some odd reason, also, do you have any other programs running? Lastly, have you tried a hard restart since the first time you UN-installed it?

Try using a VM and loading it on Mac. Known to solve problems.

No to the laptop. No to trying without programs running. Yes to doing the restart. I'll close my programs now.

Update your graphics card drivers and sound card drivers and everything else which is recommended here: https://www.cyanid...mp;t=16366
To install the game: Restart your computer, unplug your internet cable, disable your AV, don't run any other program, then try to install.
You could also try to install it to another location, for example C:\PCM2014\

I upgraded the drivers in between the 1st and 2nd installs already, I'll try the 2nd method today. i hope it works.

I can't even uninstall my last installation now. It either "can't remove some files" or just doesn't work at all, with the bar just not moving.
Edit: Or apparently shut down my computer. it just stays at logging off the entire time, or at the first update if there is one to install for an hour, and the only way to turn it off is to shut off the power supply. I don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but my computer has really taken a sh*t ever since I downloaded PCM 14 for the first time.

Windows has ways to revert to an earlier state (don't know the exact english term is) but you could try that.
After you have done that, delete all files related to PCM14 (but not the downloaded files), then try to install again. |

Well this is weird. I just randomly tried again and the game launched! However there are files missing so this still might not be a particularly good thing...
