Can someone please explain me how exactly is wind affecting riders during a race and is there any stat which determines how will rider ride on wind ? |

Well, if the rider has headwind, then echolons might appear.
Riders that are riding in the wind will then tire out really fast and groups will start to form.
It's the FL stat that helps.

Yes, put some strong guys on the front. But you can only do it when there's a lot(>35 I think) of headwind.
And no other way. I'd only suggest making echolons if your leader is strong on the flat.

No, you cannot form echelons when there is strong headwind Jesley.
Only with crosswinds. So when the wind is coming from the side. Preferably if the wind is coming from the south and tail. Then it's really nice to create echelons.
Head+crosswind is also possible, but harder because of the lower speeds.
This is one of the few parts where the game is actually realistic |

Indeed crosswinds is quite nice (though I've seen sometimes AI riders with very bad flat stat (and bad stats in general) putting hurt on the whole peloton, a bit weird).
That said, am I the only to think Cyanide has messed up headwinds incredibly? Specially when climbing in headwinds, the peloton can literally reach a MTF for example with still 50~100 riders when most riders should be arriving solo. Attacking is worthless and pulling at the front is even worse...
