Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the year 2014, and it's sure to be an exciting one for cycling fans everywhere. Will the rise of Sagan continue? Can anyone unseat Sky in their climbing prowess? How will Froome cope on the cobbles in this years TDF?
This has been inspired and attempts to be a combination of the Fantasy Neutral Story from 2009 and the Project 2100. I'll only be racing the WT races and giving reports as a neutral. All other races will be simulated.
I just have a quick question which is kinda crucial. I know how to set edit the number of teams in a race just as part of a stage race, but how do I do it as part of a career? I've actually started as Novo Nordisk, so how can I ensure that they are present at every WT race?
So do please feel free to join in, cheer your favourite riders and teams, and buckle in the a fasinating season |

Interesting!
What DB?
And at your question:
Edit the savegame(My docs/PCM/Users/You/Database/Solo/Your DB).
Dyn_team_race is what you're looking for.
Be sure to reject another team if you edit yourself in. PCT team with the lowest score would do
(Score is clearly shown in Dyn_team_race itself)
Feyenoord(football) and Kelderman fanboy
PCMdaily Awards: 12x nomination, 9x runner-up, 0x win.

I'm getting the planning out of the way, and I'll test it on the 2014 PCM expansion pack, though I intend to truly get under way when the final 2014 db comes out
@Jesleyh: Thanks, I'm going to give that a go

You could also add Novo nordisk as 20th wt team. This way you would ensure that you don't miss a at race without editing too much and you don't have to decide which team will not participate as the game would decide itself who will get the wildcards. ( there would be one wild card less on offer)
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Hi I'm wondering if anyone can help me. I've been trying to update the World Tour teams transfers for 2014. However, there are 2 riders which aren't on the database, and I was wondering if anyone would be able to either dig out stats on them or come up with stats for these 2 riders. They are:
Michael Kolar (Slovakia) riding now for Tinkoff-Saxo
Sea Keong Loh (Malaysia) riding now for Giant-Shimano
If anyone can help me out I'd really appreciate it. |

Loh: 68MO & HI.

Hi, I'm getting close to getting this underway, can I just ask, if for the WT I set Novo Nordisk to Forced, will I have to go through and put someone out? |

Nice! I hadn't noticed this story. I will sure be following.
If I am not wrong you can have 20 teams in the World Tour, but I don't own PCM2013 so I am not completely sure.

Australian Time Trial Championships

So here we are ladies and gentlemen for the first days racing of the 2014 season. And starting us off on thie 37km route around Ballarat is the Drapac rider Sulzburger Yet he isn't the first to finish!

That is the first of many Orica Greenedge riders to be out on the course, C. Meyer who passes his compatriot with a full 12km to go as he sets a time of 50'20''. What is such a strong time-triallist doing on the road this early?

That time is still the one to beat when the big five riders come down off the start ramp and onto the course. The first of those is Australian legend and BMC leader Cadel Evans. As the only Australian GT winner, wherever this man goes there's always a lot of expectation surrounding him.
The 4th rider is greatly benefiting from the instructions he's getting from his many team mates who have gone before. You guessed it, it's Orica's L. Durbridge

3rd from last is another rider with huge experience, and a master at this sort of thing. It's Tinkoff-Saxo rider Michael Rogers. Let's see how his seasoned head fairs today.

The penultimate rider is a 2 time former U23 Australian Time Trial champion and is a promising star of the American Garmin-Sharp outfit. It's Rohan Dennis who's hoping to make a big impact here today.

But he'll have to get past the hardy Tasmanian, Sky Pro Cycling's Richie Porte. The team Sky rider had a fantastic season last year, and is looking to be made leader for the upcoming Giro d'Italia, and will be looking to set out a good show to justify Dave Brailsford's faith in him.

Intermediate Time Check 1:
| C. Meyer | Orica-Greenedge | 14'46'' | | C. Evans | BMC Racing | + 11'' | | L. Durbridge | Orica-Greenedge | - 10'' | | M. Rogers | Tinkoff-Saxo | - 3'' | | R. Dennis | Garmin-Sharp | + 1'' | | R. Porte | Sky Pro Cycling | - 6'' |
So it looks that after 15km that Durbridge is already taking advantage of the advise from up front as he lops 10 seconds off Cameron's time. Richie is coming closest, but will need to work hard if he want that jersey!
Intermediate Time Check 2:
| C. Meyer | Orica-Greenedge | 27'37'' | | C. Evans | BMC Racing | + 17'' | | L. Durbridge | Orica-Greenedge | - 21'' | | M. Rogers | Tinkoff-Saxo | - 8'' | | R. Dennis | Garmin-Sharp | + 4'' | | R. Porte | Sky Pro Cycling | - 5'' |
Durbridge keeps on extending his lead! The other 4 seem to have kept fairly steady, but Luke is doing a great job here and is really in the driving seat now! However, that section was slightly downhill with a gentle incline on the way in to the finish line, will that make any difference?

No, no it won't. So it's Luke Durbridge who climbs onto the first step of the podium with a comfortable 22'' gap to Rogers in 2nd and Porte in 3rd. Though both of those men can take comfort in the fact that Evans doesn't look to be in good form (finishing +1'10'' down), so those 2 could have a better chance in the road race.
Results:
| 1 | Luke Durbridge | Orica GreenEdge | 49'46 | | 2 | Michael Rogers | Team Saxo Bank | + 23 | | 3 | Richie Porte | Team Sky | + 24 | | 4 | Cameron Meyer | Orica GreenEdge | + 34 | | 5 | Rohan Dennis | Garmin Sharp | + 42 | | 6 | William Clarke | Drapac Pro Cycling | + 51 | | 7 | Damien Howson | Orica GreenEdge | + 54 | | 8 | Cadel Evans | BMC Racing Team | + 1'11 | | 9 | Michael Hepburn | Orica GreenEdge | + 1'15 | | 10 | Brett Lancaster | Orica GreenEdge | + 1'22 |

New Zealand Time Trial Championships

Welcome back and we stay in Occeania for todays national contest, this time for the right to be New Zealand's time trial champion. Yet unlike their cousins just across the channel, New Zealand pro cycling is a considerable smaller affair, with only 18 riders competing here today. Yet some of these riders have significant positions in some of the biggest teams in world cycling, so let's see if there are many fireworks now they get the chance to race on home soil.

The first rider of note out on the road is Hayden Roulston (Trek), he succeeds a number of Node 4 riders and destroys the time of all of them, posting a best time of 57'47''.

One of the biggest names in world cycling from these shores is renowned sprinter and lead out man for Lotto Belisol, Greg Henderson. Whilst he's not a great man against the clock, 40.1km of flat road suits him not too bad. Yet still he comes in 26 seconds behind Roulston and 6th on the day.

The best climber in New Zealand is this man, currently contracted by Cannondale, George Bennett. Yet despite not being a great time-trialist, he still manages to post a new best time, coming in 4 seconds better than Roulston on 57'43''. Yet it didn't last very long, as a rider we didn't rate so much we didn't get a snap of him took 26'' off Bennett's time, and that's Node 4's Shem Rodger.

Yet this time only lasts until the man behind, S. Bewley of Orica Greenedge takes a huge 45'' off the time, posting a provisional 1st on 56'32'' and only 2 riders to go. Will he be able to hold out?

But Jack Bauer has other ideas! And no, not the kick-ass agent from 24, yet this Garmin-Sharp rider is still a kick-ass time-trialist as he takes another full 42'' off the previous time!

And here's the last man. And it's Jesse Sergent, the other Zeelander riding for Trek Factory Racing. Widely tipped to take this race, lives up to his billing and takes 9 seconds to a concluding time of 55'41''. So even though there were only about a third of riders, the top time changed hands 6 times to the Aussies 2, so this race certainly had an entertaining finale.

Results:
| 1 | Jesse Sergent | Trek Factory Racing | 55'41 | | 2 | Jack Bauer | Garmin Sharp | + 9 | | 3 | Sam Bewley | Orica GreenEdge | + 51 | | 4 | Shem Rodger | Node 4 - Giordana Racing | + 1'36 | | 5 | George Bennett | Cannondale | + 2'02 | | 6 | Hayden Roulston | Trek Factory Racing | + 2'06 | | 7 | James Oram | Bissell Cycling | + 2'13 | | 8 | Shane Archbold | An Post - Chainreaction | + 2'25 | | 9 | Daniel Barry | Node 4 - Giordana Racing | + 2'32 | | 10 | Greg Henderson | Lotto Belisol | s.t. |
Spoiler | 11 | Roman Van Uden | Node 4 - Giordana Racing | + 2'44 | | 12 | Rico Dene Rogers | Synergy Baku Cycling Project | + 2'48 | | 13 | Michael Northey | Node 4 - Giordana Racing | + 3'02 | | 14 | Aaron Gate | An Post - Chainreaction | + 3'10 | | 15 | James Williamson | Node 4 - Giordana Racing | + 3'23 | | 16 | Myron Simpson | Team Differdange - Losch | + 3'51 | | 17 | Alex Frame | Team E.ON | + 4'04 | | 18 | Aaron Perry | Team Novo Nordisk | + 4'10 |

I thought you were only racing WT races? Surely doing every NC would take forever? Good luck btw. |

I'll be focusing on the WT races, but I'll include some of the more notable NC's (I'm just using these to tie down my reporting technique) and some brief reports on the best loved non WT races (such as Giro dell Trentino, Skoda tour of Luxembourg etc) so, I'm hoping that it won't take that long.
