Quick background: downloaded PCM13, ran it to test functionality, and downloaded the first PCM Daily database. Installed, selected the anglo-saxon 2013 database, and started a career as a tier-3 (conti) US squad.
Played through to the Tour of California, and realized no WT teams were taking part. Checked here, found it was a known bug, and the new patch solved it.
However, upon downloading the patch and running it, it won't install. Now, I know the patch is for 1.0.0 to 1.0.4, and I have 1.0.3, so that may be the issue.
The question is:
1) Can I have the game update itself? I can't find a link in the game, an updater .exe, or a link on any website or in the autorun splash screen. The installer throws the error "The drive or UNC share you selected does not exist or is not accessible. Please select another". Of course, it doesn't allow me to choose an installation directory, and I have it in a non-standard location.
2) Will I have to restart my career once the update is installed? If so, that's fine, just want to know.
Thanks for the help in advance. Once I get up to 1.0.4, I'll probably wait for the new PCM database and start a new career.
1) The game should ask you to download the new patch in case you don't have it when you try to run the game. If you have it by Steam, the latest patch should be installed automatically.
No idea why the game doesn't let you install, but the fact that you already have 1.0.3.0 and you're trying to install the files from 1.0.0.0 shouldn't matter, the only thing that changes is you'll install more files at once (the files from 1.0.4.0 and all the other patches). 2) You won't have to re-start the career, but (at least to fix the WT bug) you'll have to advance seasons. So either advance season/restart career should fix it.
