When the race goes next every rider name the arrow discovers at first (up, center or down) and after that it is changed by some number -5;+5. Can i affect this number and if yes, how? |

No it's random. Says so in the manual, and many times ion the forum.
There are some affected factors but little you can do about it in race, but there are a few things you can do like training camps.

You can effect it by Reconnoitring training camp during career mode, only possible for the 3 GT. Another thing that can effect it, is assigning Leader role for a rider before the race, he won't get -5 during the race. Actually liked/disliked weather should effect it too but I can't tell for sure since i never tested that. You can also turn off daily form in the Options 'Deactivate rider variables'.
But during race you can't.

Wanna see crazy time gaps?
Difficulty: Hard.
The story:
Dombrowsky was just in perfect form. He did start on average Rhythm with only 5 days on the legs (Giro del Trentino). Fitness 2. Climbing 82+1 after camp. Quickly built up Rhythm and was set to fitness 1 on the last week. Besides, he had 6 climbers to help him, 5 in fitness 2 or better, varying during the race.
Tactics: With so many helpers, I just pushed steady up the climbs, no real "attacks" until the very end where Domo would kick. Preserved him as much as possible, even trying not to over cook him on attacks. Lost time on a few early stages because of that, but looks like it paid off.
Used the team mates to attack and make the others do some leg work, including Froome. With such a high profile team (Wiggins, Nibali, Henao, Uran, Cataldo, Siutsou, only Cataldo and 72 CL cummings were there.
Managed to leave top riders with no help most of the times and Dombrowski would have 2 or 3.
Pinot: He didn't do much during week 1 and 2. Tried a couple of long breaks that didn't work. Week 3 he was outstanding and moved up a few spots. Virtually no support. Did a fantastic 3rd place on the TT in stage 18. 4 Podiums
Hesjedal was massive during week 1. Always looking to attack. Did a great 4th place on the TT in day 8. TT = 71. Faded quite a bit on the latter parts of the Giro. 1 podium.
Mollema was OK during the Giro. OK enough for a good solid 4th place. Finished almost all stages on the top 10. 2 podiums.
Majka was about the same as Mollena, a bit less consistent. Won stage 9. 2 more podiums.
Froome: Started well. Took a second place on stage 4 to win 40 or more seconds over the main contenders (1:05 to Dombrowski). Won the TT on stage 8 by 1:17 to Cataldo and 2:11 to Dombrowski. Started to struggle on stages 9 and 10 by loosing time to some of the others. Lost over 4 minutes on stage 11 when he fell during a descent with everyone that matters together. Then he lost time in almost all the big climbs. In stage 15 even Voekler and Cunego climbed better than him. Stage 16 he managed to win time over the other big names. Stage 18 TT he was second to Dombrowski. Stage 20 he totally cracked. Dombrowski, Pinot and Aru gave everyone the finger.
He had only Cataldo as a decent climber and even him wasn't committed 100%.
1 win, 4 podiums. 7 days as leader.
Rolland: He was in the mix most of the times, but he tries a few attacks also that made him loose energy. Won stage 7. 2 more podiums.
Cunego: For a 76 MO rider, an 8th place is always very good. Nothing noticeable though.
Aru: I have no idea where he was for a long time. Won stage 15. Showed himself on stages 18, 19 and did 2nd on stage 20.

Basically what Kaimelar's said, reconnaissance, making people leader, keeping them happy maybe? Assigning leader and things. |
