Hi! I have posted this over at the steam forum as well but i'm guessing that the traffic is a bit higher over here.
I tried out a friends copy of 2012 last year and has played it a bit but now, with this sale going on, i'm thinking of picking up a copy for my self. I'm wondering though if there's any one out there that has played both games and can tell if there is any difference in the game play and general quality between the 2012 and 2013 version?
last years (2012) version sells for 5€ and the new one for 20€, basically is PCM 2013 worth the extra money for a novice?
Thanks for the help and input!
Ps. Any one running PCM on a MAC via Bootcamp with success?
Yes, when the patch 1.4.0.0(next one) will arrive, it will be. But there are some annoying bugs left(a single forum search will learn which ones, a lot of threads are about that).
But PCM 13 surely has some better things, like better mountain AI, new financial system etc.
But for 20 Euros, it's definitely worth buying, at least when the patch comes out.
I wonder how you know Jesleyh, that it will get better with the patch. As Cyanide has a plentiful history in making the game worse or things broken by their patches.
I think it is not worth the extra money, at least for me it was not. I find racing more predictable in this version, especially in mountains. And breaks (catching them) are much worse than in 2012. Also several newly introduced functions are broken or does not have effect (together with some stats). Because of that, i am really demotivated to play this game at all.

Just my oppinion.
Well, it's more hope than being sure
But come on, they can't give us messed up patches twice in a row, right?
Next time should be right
But 15 extra Euros would still be worth it, though.
It is not worth that amount of extra money... yet!
Until Cyanide fix the major bugs and get the new features working it is not the money as it is still almost unplayable!
Whereas PCM12 is a very complete game where the main features do work. Yes there are some AI issues but no more than 12, and 12 has more and better extras (db's, graphics, stages etc).
Thank you all for the grate response and good input!
I'm leaning towards getting the 2012 version and add one of the 2013 databases. Hopefully i will get stuck in the game and might update later.

But it mainly depends on what you expect from the game. Do you want to play multiplayer? Do you care about up-to-date team and rider stats?
I upgraded from PCM2010 (yes, that old) to PCM2013 and to be quite honest, it's not that different. OK, it's the same cycling sim game and not that much to add, but the scouting still sucks, the rider mood still does nothing, the fitness is the same (well, with patch 1.0.3.0 that I installed and then went back to 2.0), TTT still weird, sponsors still too random...
Well, if you can get the season's races and the teams for your version no need for a new game.
I'd rather cyanide made a continuous version of the game rather than these buggy new versions of the same schlop.
