Jesper Jørgensen
Sports director, Team Maersk-Carlsberg

"I'm very excited to be leading this team to the daylight. I've been looking forward to this day for a long time now, and i can't wait to get more into the hard routines, and training with the guys.
I have gathered a lot of strong riders with skills in mountains (basicly) and stageracers - and ofcause some good and stabile helpers. Beyond that i've been aware of that Team Maersk-Carlsberg's attentions is to be on the scene for awhile - therefor i've made sure our team is secured and even stronger in the future by young talents. E.g. i got Nairo Quintana & Beñat Intxausti to be in front for the bigger races and mountains. The team is based on danish and spanish riders and a few from italy & france. Myself personaly got roots back in Spain, and therefor the domination of riders from spain."

Tour de San Luis classification looked like this in the end of stage 5, which was won by Miguel Rubiano from Androni Giocattoli.

Tour de San Luis Etape 6:

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b547/katulen/Stage5Izaattack20kmleft_zps84745df5.png
The start of the stage, there was a slow pace on the peleton, but after 30km an attack came from Cyril Lemoine, and Gorka Izagirre followed him - Ended up with a breakaway group with 7 rideres. Every rider of those in the breakaway, had min. 6 minutes to no. 1 in the time classifications.

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b547/katulen/Stage5Izainfront15km_zpsf9e41933.png
The breakaway had 15km to the finishline, but they had to climb Mirador del Sol for victory. Izagirre and Lemoine pulled away from the group, and got a gap on 20 seconds to the pursuiting group, and 50 seconds to the peleton with Intxausti and Kiryienka in front.

Intxausti attacked the peleton and Kiryienka, in hopes of getting a gap to Kiryienka - But he failed. The peleton was to strong in order to catch the breakaway.

In the front was Izagirre the strongest one today, and ran away with the victory of stage 6 !
First victory for us - after just 6 stages in this years tour. Great start.

The classifications of Tour de San Luis - Stage 6:

"Is it possible for Intxausti to get more than 1 minute to Kiryienka on a flat stage and only 150km long - Will be tough ! Check the next update !
I hope you enjoy, and would like to follow. Please give any feedback etc. or you can act like a journalist to ask more into the team or riders."

Update.

Unfortunetly there was some problems with PCM13, so i was not able to take any screenshots of the last stage of San Luis and all of Vuelta a Mallorca.
But sure was exciting !

Pressconference:

Jesper Jørgensen
Sports director, Team Maersk-Carlsberg:

"Our jerseys for 2013 wasn't flawless. So we had to remake the collection. And when doing that, we had a chance of remaking the design of our jerseys - and thats what happened.
So i proudly present our jerseys for the tour of 2013:

Tour de San Luis Etape 7:

The victory of G. Izagirre in stage 6 boosted the team with confidence, but stage 7 would be really important, if we have to run away with the victory in overall time classifications.

There was action from the beginning of the stage, and a big breakaway was established - they reached 8 minutes gap to the peleton. In the breakawaygroup Team Maersk-Carlsberg riders was showing off the jersey. Mørkøv & De la Cruz - which was supposed to be used later on the stage, to support Intxausti.

Intxausti was attacking with 50km to the finishline and 4minutes to the breakaway. He really tryid everything to get up to his two teammates, but the peleton stepped up the pace.

It ended with a mass sprint, where F. Chicchi from Vivi Fantini showed off the muscles, and won the stage.

The final overall time classifications for Tour de San Luis

"First race of the year, and we came out with a great result. A stagevictory and second place in the time classifications."

As told above, there was no screens for this race

Riders for Vuelta a Mallorca:
Beñat Intxausti (Captain)
Chris Anker Sørensen
Lars Ytting Bak
David De la Cruz
Fabio Aru (Fighting for mountain jersey)
André Steensen
Gorka Izagirre

As you can see it was planned that Intxausti would take us towards the victory, versus the bigger boys such as Contador, Rodriguez and Froome. Buuut, there was a totaly twist in the race, and not everything was going as planned.

Stage 1 was going slowly, nothing really big happend. Small breakaways with 3min to the peleton. The stage was won by Allan Davis from Orica - GreenEdge, by a mass sprint.

Stage 2 had a few breakaways, but a fast pace in the peleton by Katusha team kept everything in order. Ben Swift won in mass sprint.

Stage 3 was the stage of this years Vuelta a Mallorca that would be the toughest one. On the last cat. 1 climb Contador attacked, with Intxausti and Rodriguez in his heels. Contador won the stage, with Intxausti and Rodriguez in same time.
Intxausti was 2 minutes behind Contador in time classifications.

Stage 4 was planned to be the time for Intxausti to attack Contador. Intxausti attacked on the second last cat. 2 climb, but sadly the peleton was way to strong. But Chris Anker Sørensen was send in attack earlier on the stage, and had to help and support Intxausti's attack. But Chris took it into his own hands, and gave the team another stagevictory. Second came 2
34 behind.

The final overall time classifications for Vuelta a Mallorca:

Team Maersk-Carlsberg got another stagevictory on the shelve and a 2nd place in the classification of this years Mallorca tour.
Beside that, what worked as planned was that Fabio Aru won the mountain jersey with 32pts in total.
