Game Crashes when trying to run a 3D stage

Well, it is what it says above, and as you can imagine its a bit of a pain! Basically what happens is as described in this thread:

The crash is identical as to what is described in that thread and it also happens every time. There are some diffences between my setup and his however. I bought my game through the official site rather than steam, used their downloader to download and install the game and have not 'modded' the game in any way. So what is happening? Can anyone help??

In the case of the thread i link to it seems a steam update cleared the problem. But as i didn't download through them this won't save me!!

It does not matter how you bought your game. If your game wasn't patched automatically, you could download the patch in this forum. The link is in the recommended download at the right, for example.

If the problem remains even after the patch, then you might not have the same problem. But in any case, make sure that the drivers of your graphics card are up to date.

Thankyou very much for the reply.

I believed the patch was installed as when i started the game for the first time a patch was downloaded. I will try and download the patch though and see if that helps.

EDIT: Downloaded and installed the patch and i have exactly the same problem.

This problem happened to me. Try with lower graphic settings
