Why does PCM require administrator privileges?

Amateur Posts: 1 Joined: 28-06-2013 PCM$: 200.00	PCM installed on a family computer, with UAC in place for the children. But, while PCM runs, it just ends up saying "game over". It has to be run as administrator, which means the admin password has to be typed every time. This means that PCM is attempting to use areas that, for security, only administrators can access. Why? And is there any intention of fixing? (it's a trivial software issue, but only if you know how to properly write for Windows).
