Last night I was in a hurry and wanted to finish the giro. Rodriguez was initially my leader (seems tailor made for him with so many hills). Due to the rush I was quicksimming. Rodriguez was loosing time on hills to most of his team mates and particularly the favorites (hesjadal and pouels were my team mates) mollema and Sanchez were winning.
contrastingly if you quick SIM with gillbert on hills he is almost guaranteed top 5. |

moral of the story... don't quick sim! can never be trusted in my eyes, whether you are rushing or not to finish a race.

my bad lol. He had form 1 excellent rhythm and freshness. the thing is apart from sprinters quick sim is generally somewhat reliable but this is just silly. |

I experienced the same in the Giro I quick-simmed through with Cannondale, where 75 hill Caruso lost 3-4 minutes per hilly stage on 71 hill Vandborg, with the former on a normal ride protected by all riders.
Form and all other factors were practically identical, and the mountain stages went normal.
But then again I see this

and I'm not surprised by anything anymore.
