The tough section of the race arrives with todays stage featuring three categorised climbs in the last 50km of the stage.

Gazelle are the two teams that have dominated on this type of terrain all season, it will interesting to see how the former ride given they currently have the race lead through sprinter Sergio Lay.

The trio just hold on for the intermediate sprint with Okroulicky just taking it over Andersson and the disinterested Golas.

The pack then allow these three to dangle clear up the climb.

Okrouhlicky takes the mountain prime at the top of the second cat ascent over Golas and the Andersson.

Di Gregorio attacks for fourth place and nothing from KoM leader Breen despite there being 5th place points for grabs.

Iberia are now being helped by super climbing team Kenya Airways.

The breakaway up front had extended their lead back up to 2.30 at one point but now as we approach the 3rd cat summit the lead is down to less than a minute.

Golas takes the summit and into KoM lead he goes.

Vorganov takes 4th, Purito 5th, Siskevicius 6th, Furdi 7th and a late comer Carrara is 8th.

The big punchaers didn't go hard enough and the best sprinter left managed to win!

All three of the breakaways also survived awarding them with decent GC position as it stands as well.
