...so that's what happens basically. In career mode at stage 2, 4 and 5, I get to the point the stage is loading in 3D mode, and then it crashes. Everytime. It works fine when I simulate, but hey, where's the fun in that?
Maybe a known problem, maybe not, but does any of you know a solution? I'm playing with the PCMDaily's 2012 database. |

Are the files of these stages in the correct map?

Yup. It starts loading the stage, but then the game crashes. |

Maybe the stages are known to be bugged? Have you checked the PCM Daily's 2012 database thread? |

Did stages 1 and 3 work? Do you have the latest patch for the game (1.4.0.0)? Do you have the Expansion Pack for Patch 1.4.0.0 (or for an earlier patch)? At what point of the loading does it crash?

And do you get a crash report or does the screen just turn black? |

I've played stages 1 and 3 in 3D mode, and I do have the latest patch and the expansion pack. When it says "road geometries" at the bottom, the game crashes and I get a crash report.
Same thing happens in single stage mode. |

Can your game handle the graphics? |

No problem at other races. |

Only thing I can think off is that the stages are either bugged, or the stages are not edited correctly into your savegame. |

Well, I downloaded the pcmdaily database and then started the career, so the stages haven't been edited into the savegame. If the stages are bugged, I can't imagine I'm the first to notice this...
So the only solution is looking for a variant (that works in 3d mode)? |

I'm not an expert, but that's the best thing to do in my opinion. Overwrite the supposed bugged stages. |

Okay, I will try that. Thanks for your help.
But I still can't believe that nobody ever mentioned that these stages are bugged.... |

I'm not sure they are. But I don't see any other explanation... |

The stages shouldn't be the problem. They work fine here, and as you said, nobody's ever mentioned these stages as a problem.
It could be a bug with the directory they are in though (My Docs/PCM12/Mod/Stages), which Cyanide never really got working. They said it worked with the last patch, and that's why the stages are added there in the Exp Pack for 1.4.0.0 - but there were still some bugs concerning race variants when placing stages there. Don't know if there would be bugs with stages crashing but it's possible.
So try moving the stages from My Docs/PCM12/Mod/Stages to Program Files/Cyanide/PCM12/CM_Stages. However I'd advise you to back up the USAPCC stages that are already there (they are from the 2010 version iirc, while the one added by the Exp Pack is the 2012 route) - if by whatever reason the 2012 route stages still not work after you move them to CM_Stages, then you could try with the 2010 ones.

So I followed your advice lluuiiggii. The stages in CM_Stages were also from 2012 btw (same stages, but different file sizes - strange no?), but still no succes. Crash report while loading stages 2, 4 and 5 in 3D mode. |

Did you try lowering your graphic settings to the absolute minimum before trying to load the stage? If not, go ahead |

I have overwritten the supposedly bugged stages with some stages RicRaf made for the USAPCC 2011 - I found them on this forum. Now I can play a "normal" USAPCC in 3D mode.
Thanks for all the input. |

Glad you can have a normal gameplay in the end. |
