Playing a race and just had some odd abandonment's happen...
First was an AI rider. He was a pre-race favorite and just stopped dead... No crash, just stopped and abandoned.
Second was another AI rider, same thing
Third, and most odd, was my own rider. No crash, no puncture. Was sitting in peloton, happy (BPM was 145ish) all going well. Next moment just stops dead and quits the race...
I believe the game only has an animation for a crashing rider that afterwards continue the race.
If he is suddenly stopping then it means the rider had a crash and he can't continue racing. After the race you will notice that he has a injury or look for the AI riders for injuries.
The problem is that Cyanide didn't make an animation for crashing and abandoning the race because of an injury.

I've seen several times a big pile-up and then in it some riders stopped (as they were injured and would abandon), so I don't think it's that. It's not the case of Cyanide not making the animation (even because, if you check in the Cyclist Viewer, the crash/get back up animations are separated), more like a well known bug on the game that sometimes the rider "crashes" and abandon but without you seeing or reading about the crash

You are right that sometimes you don't notice a crash and suddenly there is an abandonment. Maybe I had this idea because sometimes you read of a crash and when you scroll backwards to the riders you still see the animation of the crash and the rider continues the race.
The same lag is when you start a race you see an animation of the start to cycle. Some sconds later when you go in the back of the peloton you have the feeling the riders just have started to ride their bike.
Is the cyclist editor the viewer? And where do I have to search for the animations?
That happens I think because the game only "updates" the rider animation when you close the camera on him again. So e.g. if you see rider's attacking, then they go out of your camera and stop attacking - if you now change the camera to focus on this rider, you'll for a moment see him still in attack animation and then get to his current animation. Not sure if this makes much sense, but yeah it's just some sort of lag
The Cyclist Editor is the viewer, yes. Just click on View -> Animation and you should get a list of animations (make sure that, when creating the cyclist, you choose the "Cyc_XXXXetc etc.kmf" cyclist mesh, instead of the CTk - CTk is for the track riders, so you only see track animations. Cyc is for the road rider, so you see all animations)
The lag is very funny but nothing that disturbs gameplay heavily.

Thanks.
There aren't so less animations than I thought.
