Im fairly new to PCM 2012 and started a few careers, but now i'm into the full swing with my custom team of British riders. (without Cav, Wiggo and Froome)
I've just completed the first season in the lowest division (got promoted easily as my boys ripped it apart)
But planning the season i left to the default selections but by the end of the season some of my riders had riden over 100 days!
So i thought id try and plan my own season this time round. However since i'm unlikely to get many wildcards into the WT events. Which races should my leaders of Thomas, Millar and Swift be aiming for? |

Simply they should target what they are good at.
Thomas to cobbles, Swift to sprints and Millar to time trials.
A simple way to start season planning is by doing the leaders. Of course after 60 days form starts to drop, but you can do 75 days without it being to much of a problem.
Start by planning 60-75 days for your three leaders. The build up the rest of the race squads around them. Suddenly the whole season is planned, and all you need do is make the fitness schedules.

I recommend using 'Lachi's season planner', it makes planning a lot easier.

Thanks for the replies.
With Lachi's planner all i see is a race name and i've no idea which type of rider this favours. Is there any indication to what sort of race it is or do i have to have PCM open aswell?

No, opening PCM is the only solution

I wonder why you suggested to use my planner before he even used the one in the game. Especially since this years version of my planner lacks that important information. |

Well, my experience with the in-game planner isn't that great, and planning got a lot easier when I started to use your planner.

To be honest, I've never used Lachi's planner. I downloaded it twice, but when I opened it, there was always a black screen and no buttons to push to open a file or something, so I gave up |

I find the best way is to export the file to Lachi's planner but keep open the game so that you can check which races suit your riders and plan accordingly. |

Likewise what I do, especially since Lachi's allows for rider groupings, and shows racedays. Also seeing everything without having to switch months is nice.

I agree, Lachi's planner is great, and while I don't own PCM12 but only PCM11, I would still keep using Lachi's planner for the same reasons you guys listed.
While this topic is active, Lachi, I've got some questions for you:
-The version of your planner I am using, has fitness schedules, but doesn't show fatigue like the in-game fitness planner does with those white bars. Is there any chance that you might incorporate this in the future? Or is it already in a newer version?
-I saw that the planner is in multiple languages, but my version is not in Dutch yet. If you want, I could help translating the program to Dutch for you. Let me know if you are interested. |

Fatigue estimation:
I asked Cyanide more than once how to calculate the fatigue but they never answered. I asked in this forum more than once to get an unprotected version of the excel season planner of Cyanide to see the formula but I never got an answer.
But seeing the announcements for this years game, I doubt that I will continue to develop the season planner any longer. So even if I would get the formula, I might not add it.
Translation:
I would be pleased to get another translation. You can make a copy of the file english.xml in the folder called language and call it dutch.xml. Then you can translate everything which is between two quotation marks. But I am not sure if more translations are still needed. |

Ouch! That's very bad news my friend. I love your planner and it would definitely be sad to see it go. Still, I definitely understand your point.
About the .xml files, I took a look and it doesn't look like much work for me to translate it to Dutch. If you're going to make the planner compatible with PCM13, let me know beforehand and I'll send you a Dutch .xml file for it. |
