Hello,
I have decided to try story writing, i don't really have experience but I enjoyed playing PCM with custom young riders and bring them to the Top.
The story will be told by the trainer of two young french riders.
So basically, it is a two rider story but with a technical approach from the trainer.
I will only report race in which the two riders take part, and I will make a quick sum up of the important races during the year.
English is not my mother tongue so fell free to correct me if you find mistakes.
I hope you will enjoy it as much as I will.
Database : PCMDB2013 with some minor editing made by me
Carriere Difficulty : Easy (I'm not the manager and i already have some senario planed)
Race difficulty : Hard
Riders Evolution : 0.3

Hello, My name is Franck Delavallé, I am 42 and I come from the north of France. I'm a former cyclist reconverted in trainer inside the team "Cofidis, Solutions Crédits". Last year, due to lack of budget, I was also use as a scout. During the U23 races two riders caught my attention : Tony Douay and Mickaël Nuilen. One has a sprinter profile and the other one is doing great in cobbled races and Time Trial.
In the Next post I will present you this two young with further information about them.

Tony Douay
Birth Date: September the 12th in 1991 in Lille
He lives in a small town next to Lille with his girlfriend. He is attempting classes in an engineer school in order to be engineer in bike development.
He started Cycling at the age of 12 in a junior team. He had some good results but he was too irregular. Two year ago, he started Track cycling and he improved his sprint skills, Last year he was already riding with the color of the team “Cofidis” but only on the Velodromes. He won the U23 Keirin French championship and several flat stages in the U23 calendar.
Potential: Tony is a great rider, he is fast and agile, in a few years he will compete with the best but he still had to work a lot to improve his stamina and resistance. Because he is coming from Track, he is not very endurant but he seems to have great possibilities to enforce his riding.
This season expectations: the manager wants Tony to be in the lead out train for the sprinters of the team (Adrien Petit and Stéphane Poulhiès) but he will sprint for himself during .2 races. In some minor races, he will have the possibility to go in breakaway to show who he is.

Mickaël Nuilen
Birth Date: December the 2nd in 1990 in Arras.
Mickaël lives in Mons-en-Pévele, town known for its cobbled sections during the “Paris-Roubaix”. Mickaël is training a lot on the cobbled sections of the north of France. He really enjoy the fact of going to the edge of his limits. He started cycling at the age of 14. He was doing cyclo-cross and he was good at it. He started road race after the solo victory of Fabian Cancellara in 2010. The next year, Mickaël was winning his first road race in U20. It was a cobbled race going through some sectors of “Paris-Roubaix”. Last Year in U23, Mickaël arrived 3rd in the “U23 Paris-Roubaix”.
Potential: Mickaël is very meticulous in his work and training, he wants to control everything, he is good on flat and cobbled and, like his idol Cancellara, he is good in Time Trial. He still has to improve his fighting capacity because he is always at the back of the pack.
This season expectations : This year, Mickaël will be the lieutenant of Jan Ghyselinck. The team already said that they will not ask wildcard for the World Tour cobbled races. Mickaël is a bit disappointed but he will still show his talent during the continental races.

After a long discussion with Tony and Mickaël, we set their schedule for the season. They have the same program because they just arrived in the team and last year in French U23 team they used to ride a lot together. Their season will start in "l'Etoile de Bessège" and end after "Binche-Tournai-Binche"
Of course Tony and Mickaël won't be together in every race but their season objective are quite similar : help the sprinter to win and perhaps win their first professionnal race.

Edit :I edited the schedule with the advice of Ian
BTW thanks for the supporting messages.
Spoiler if you have any comments about their schedules, tell me because i'm not use to work like that in PCM

Yesterday ended a week of training in Alcamo in Italy. This training camp was the opportunity for the new riders to make relation with their team-mates.
In Italy the manager wanted to perfect the sprint trains for Adrien and Stéphane, Tony was very good in the last position before the sprinters, but when we set him up as a free rider, he was doing bad. During the first race, Tony will be part of the train and he is happy with that.
It was a bit difficult for Mickaël because it was mostly sprint training (The climber went to the Alps) but we realized that he can set a high pace without spending too much energy. He would be the first in train or take part in the chase.
Here are some picture I took of Tony and Mickaël hope you enjoy the journey

The group in Italy

Tony winning an intermediate sprint. As you can see French television followed us during our 3rd day.

The first test for train; Mickaël is leading the one in front.
Next time I will post the Interview Tony and Mickaël made for the team website.
Spoiler Thanks for the supporting messages and if I go too fast tell me I can slow down

Here are the interview made for the team website:
Tony Douay, 21:
Hello, my name is Tony Douay, I am a neo-pro in the team “Cofidis, Solutions Crédits”. If I had to explain what type of rider I am, I would tell you that I am born to be a sprinter. In fact it’s because my dad was riding in an amateur cycling team and he was also a sprinter, I learned a lot from him. When I was young he trained me to sprint by being my lead out man when we went cycling. When I started Keirin, I was already able to be part of a sprint train and it helped me a lot.
About my first days with the team : I am really proud to ride with such riders. Even if they are not the best, they have experience and everyone in the team is important. While this training camp I talked a lot with Stéphane who is a great person. He gave me dozens of advice about the positioning before a mass sprint. I will start my season in “l’Etoile de bessège”, it is a race with a lot of possibilities for sprinters but I am going to lead Stéphane to the win. I know that in such races I cannot show myself in mass sprint, I am too weak for the moment.
Mickaël Nuilen, 22:
Hello, my name is Mickaël Nuilen and I am a neo-pro in the team “Cofidis, Solutions Crédits”. My domain is cobbled races and flat stage. First I was doing cyclo-cross, and I was quite good. In 2010 when I was 19, I saw Cancellara win “Paris-Roubaix” with great talent. Right after his victory, I decided to try cycling on road. Last year I made a podium place in the “U23 Paris-Roubaix”. I was so excited to be part of this race that I attacked with 60km to go. I overestimate myself and with 10km last I was joined by two other riders I stay with them till the end but I could not Sprint for the victory.
About my first time with the team : I talked a lot with Jan and Adrien about their feelings on cobbled races this year and we exchanged some tips. When I learned that the team won’t ask a wild card for WT cobbled Classics I was a bit disappointed, but it is true that we do not have much cobbled rider in the team. During the training camp, it was decided for me to be the first lead out man in the sprint trains.I will also have to chase the escapes if I am not in.
Well perhaps you know better these riders now.
Next post is Etoile de Bessège first stage report.

Race Report : Etoile de Bessège
Stage 01
Today was a flat day, everything has been done to help Stéphane to obtain the best result.
Romain Lemarchand tried to be in the breakaway but he failed.
Great sprinters (Kittel, Boonen, …) take part in this race so we let their team do the work.
With 114km remaining, the escapes was composed of 4 riders, they never had more than 5min.
They were caught at 6 km from the end.
Right after the escapes have been caught back, Mickaël start the train for Stéphane. Everything were right but a Quickstep rider blocked Tony and Stéphane so they had to do a great effort to join back the lead out men.
In the end Marcel Kittel won, Stéphane is 12th.
Here are some pics from the race:

This is the start of the first pro race for Mickaël and Tony.

Tony and Mickaël chating with their team-mates.

Mickaël is leading the train, Tony is in third position.

Marcel Kittel winning the stage
The 12th place is quite disappointing but it is the beginning of the season, we hope for a better result tomorrow.
